Music What Song/Album Are You Listening To? (5 Viewers)

I am listening to a lot of Frightened Rabbit. I had heard of them before Scott Hutchison’s death but didn’t know his music. It’s a sad loss of a great but tortured artist, just 36. Somehow his music has a warmth that underlies it that is terribly appealing.

The modern/indy sound mixed with Scottish folk influence and his powerful songwriting and lyrical imagery strikes me as something unique.

I always heard that it was supposed to be on LZII... But was rejected for some reason...
 
Brendon Small's complete body of work on shuffle.. non stop.
 
Paul Simon is playing a three-night engagement at the Hollywood Bowl as part of his self-described farewell tour. We went to the Tuesday show; It was a heck of a workout for a 76 year old man, with a long first set and multiple encores. He didn't perform "Take Me To The Mardi Gras" but he did include his other Louisiana-related "hit", much like this live performance from 2016. (BTW, he'll be in New Orleans on September 5.)

Anybody heard of this guy? He's got some New Orleans ties. He's got his own sound, kind of a bluesy with a splash of garage/punk.




And for the record, Benjamin Booker is not my son (but my son is named Benjamin Booker).
