What we accomplished today (1 Viewer)

Still feels good to beat the snot out of the Falcons to the point their soon to be fired Head Coach was yelling at DA for scoring yet another TD……

But yes, it gives Loomis an excuse to keep the whole staff, hurts draft position, and will force Blank to fire Smith. All bad things but it still feels good.

I will tell you this, Tampa is going to get bounced. The Mayfield magic is gone.
It was either the Saints, Falcons, or Bucs getting dragged up and down the field. The entire NFC South is a dumpster fire. That three of the four teams made it right around 9-8/8-9 is a testament to how easy the schedule was and not an indication of quality.

There is still a slim chance to get the wildcard. That's one thing this win accomplished that is tangible even if we ignore the intangible benefit of winning a game and having a winning season which helps to build culture and momentum for the next season.

Moreover, what would losing have accomplished? Picking 5 or 6 spots higher which may or may not make a difference in the quality of player you get? Especially since Loomis is always willing to trade up that many spots if they guy they want is there?

Dennis Allen was staying no matter what any decisions regarding the staff were likely already made long ago. So, a loss would have gotten us essentially nothing.

I think what this win did was ensure we'd not only have Allen back but Pete is coming back too. This isn't a good day for Saints fan, win or not.
so lose/lose situation.. ugh

It’s been a disastrous 2 weeks for this franchise. 2 completely meaningless wins that secure another season of this garbage head coach.

I don’t understand the sudden switch up from some of our fans on social media either and the change in narrative. There is really nothing to celebrate about this win, whether people want to hear that or not.

We hung 48 on the falcons, forgive some of us for being a bit happy about it. They weren’t firing DA unless we had two blow out losses and even then I don’t think it was happening if I’m honest with myself. If the Saints like a QB or any other player that’s predicted above our draft pick (whereever that is) for that matter they will attempt to trade up for him. The organization does not value draft picks the way a lot of people believe they should, just like they don’t care about the cap the way a lot of people think they should.

Most of the NFL is in the range of 8-10 wins or worse. There are probably only 3 or 4 actually good teams.

Disastrous…..,oh come on now. I rather be a winning team than have a better draft pick that we may screw up anyway.

But what is there to actually be happy about? It quite literally means nothing, we’re still missing the playoffs. Falcons fans wanted to lose as well. You don’t lose fan points for admitting it means nothing.

Almost the whole NFC is basically 9-8 or 8-9 that’s why we have a chance to get in the playoffs still.
