What we accomplished today (2 Viewers)

You have no clue whether that’s the case or not. Who cares about 20+ years ago? I remember when we were perennial playoff contenders. Wasn’t that long ago either.

Multiple reporters that have covered the team for years and have inside sources have reported that he was coming back no matter what happened in this game.

But what is there to actually be happy about? It quite literally means nothing, we’re still missing the playoffs. Falcons fans wanted to lose as well. You don’t lose fan points for admitting it means nothing.

Whether or not it means nothing remains to be seen. The bears have no reason not to try to beat the packers. The Seahawks aren’t setting the world on fire and Kyler Murray might want to show people he’s still worth the investment. The team should’ve played better earlier in the year, but they’re playing well now and gave themselves an opportunity by controlling what they could. As I stated before we know our FO is aggressive in both draft trades and FA. There was never a reason to hope for a loss once we hit 7 wins, let alone beating Tampa last week.

The front office were hardly going to go round telling reporters “yeah if we lose we’re firing DA”.

I don’t care. Losing to the Falcons would set us back more than keeping Allen or a lower draft pick. A win is a big organizational boost.

It was either the Saints, Falcons, or Bucs getting dragged up and down the field. The entire NFC South is a dumpster fire. That three of the four teams made it right around 9-8/8-9 is a testament to how easy the schedule was and not an indication of quality.

My thoughts -

1.) Tampa is going to get curb stomped in the first round of the playoffs to the point embarrassment.

2.) When have the Saints ever gotten the help they needed to sneak into the playoffs? Pretty sure it’s never happened.

3.) Allen benefitted from what will most likely be the easiest schedule ever played (once the strength of schedule, facing rookie/backup QBs, are calculated in). Sean Payton would have had this team moonwalking into the playoffs with this cupcake schedule.

If you can't enjoy winning a game or having a winning season, regardless of the circumstances, then what is the point of being a fan? This is supposed to be entertainment. it's supposed to be fun.

31 teams either miss the playoffs or lose their last game every year. You have to take the joy where you can find it and I don't see the point in being miserable unless your team is the one team that wins their last game.

Clearly you don't follow the right reporters. When Duncan and Underhill, and every other beat reporter, agree that DA is coming back no matter what, then that is what is happening.

“Supposed” being the key word. I fail to see the fun in my team failing to make the playoffs with one of the easiest schedules in NFL history.

They didn’t say no matter what, they said unless he got blown out in the last two. But anyway, they report what Mickey Loomis and his front office tell them. What the FO tell them isn’t necessarily true, it’s the narrative they want spread.

It’s been a disastrous 2 weeks for this franchise. 2 completely meaningless wins that secure another season of this garbage head coach.

I don’t understand the sudden switch up from some of our fans on social media either and the change in narrative. There is really nothing to celebrate about this win, whether people want to hear that or not.
Go away. Just that

Barely into to this thread and already done with it. Any so called fan mad about a Saints win is not a fan.

No one is mad, you’re being dramatic. Some of us are capable of seeing the bigger picture and realise that this win today does nothing to help future success. It’s frustration at another season of Dennis Allen. Not difficult to understand.
