What will you guys give us for Stephon Diggs? (1 Viewer)

That's the "dead money" and "cap savings" for the Vikings not how much his salary would be.

Yeah, I’m pretty sure the dead money represents what the Vikings are paying and cap savings represents what the new team will pay.

On over the cap, I’m getting:

2020 $5.5
2021 $9.0
2022 $12.0
2023 $12.0

Base salary is what you need to look at.

He's at $10.9M next year and then $11.4M every year after that.

No. In 2020 Diggs cap number is 14.5 million. If they cut him 9.0 million of that is "dead money" and the 5.5 in "cap savings" is what the Vikings gain in salary cap.

Do you think you guys can throw in that Taysom Hill guy with a reasonable contract?

Maybe Taysom on a reasonable 5 year deal (and seven chicken sandwiches) for Diggs and Dalvin Cook on his last year of his rookie contract?

Diggs is a crybaby, do not want

He's just misunderstood and we don't know how to use him.

I'm self-lessly suggesting this because I hate to see great talent wasted.

That's really useful, thanks. It does raise a more fundamental issue for the OP which is that the large cap hit that would accelerate is incompatible with trading him to save cap.

But then I thought OBJ's cap hit was insurmountable for the Giants to ditch him and looked what happened.

Ah okay. OTC didn’t list base salary.

I’m sticking with sportrac from now on. Even though they don’t have a “trade” option like OTC.

Sportrac has been my go-to for as long as I've been looking up contracts because of their simple layout in their charts. I think you'll find it better than OTC.

Hi all,

Time to start building on next season and since our GM is not able to assemble a roster that makes sense, I'm just trying to get things started here.
We are still in salary cap hell and have players to resign.
Since our head coach doesn't like to throw the ball, and our QB won't hit wide open WR's, it's time to make some moves. Thielen is a Minnesota boy so their might be more backlash if we trade him so we need to trade Diggs instead.

Stefon Diggs would be a great addition to your team opposite CGM. And I know Peyton has mad respect for Diggs the way they embraced after the game.
This will make it easier for whoever you use at QB next year. Besides, you guys aren't afraid to take on ex-Vikings players, and most seem happier after they sign there.

We are only interested in draft pick compensation at this time since we can't pay anyone you might want to trade to us.

Shoot us an offer! Better grab him before one of your divisional rivals do!

We are tight on the wallet, and the budget for the receivers is well spent on Thomas and Cook.

We simply can't afford any other big contract at the position, so no deal.
