We can't, or at least not easily, go for great players this year, because so much of the cap is Brees and CGM ($21M combined out of $184M); Winston and Hill are another $10M, neither of whom is playing QB, and Peat is $5.6M. That's a lot of $$ on offensive players who are not on the field (Hill is at least out there as a TE) - approaching $40M. And you still have to pay for a defense and special teams. There's only so much you can Loomis it.

For what its worth they were talking on one the morning radio shows this morning that New England could be one of the likely landing spots for him. Their thinking is that OBJ is looking at teams that have coaches that can scheme to get him open and get him the ball and its not about having a top QB or being a contender. New England with McDaniels and the Saints with Coach Payton were the two teams they were talking about. Of course its all speculation.

It makes more sense than Seattle or Tampa where he'd be 3rd or 4th fiddle. I don't think he would mind starting opposite Adams with Aaron Rodgers as his QB. The Packers have no competition in that division this year. If he signs with the Packers instead of Saints it's all about going to a team with an elite QB that doesn't have the Bucs in their division.

I hate to be that guy, but I’ve changed my mind and think he won’t have interest in coming here. It’s a big risk to bet his career on Simien and Hill. And OBJ has been a problem when on losing teams, which we might end up being.
