Wow - did the bottle cost more than the divorce?
Unfortunately, no :ROFLMAO:

It's not a well known brand. Guy I know who won't be named who used to manage the liquor department of a place that won't be named gave me a very good price

A couple friends stopped by, so we celebrated a cool 91F evening this week with whiskey and cigars...
Bit late to this, but looks like you need more pretzel bites and those banana's only had a couple days max before banana bread became the only option. If they are still on the counter, prolly want to get some gloves.

How can you tell?
There are rum nerds (me) that test spirits with hydrometers or mass spectrometers.

Johnny Drejer was the first to figure this out with inexpensive material.

The govts of Finland and Sweden do these test as well.

The European Union added regulations a few years back capping sugar additions at 20g per litre or you cannot call it rum, so some of these numbers will have changed...in the EU at least. Glucose, glycerol, and vanillin are used by some producers as well. FWIW, Jamaica has rules preventing any additions, and most rums from Barbados (except for Malibu and Plantation) don't have additives. Most French styles don't have additives. Spanish-style rums are usually the biggest offenders.
Drink what you like, but know what you drink is the motto.

This may be a silly question, but do unopened spirits go bad? My neighbour gave me a Texas mickey of seagrams that looks like it was bottled in 1962? I’m strictly a beer guy

According to song, it’s probably good.
