Why is everyone so scared of the Patriots? (2 Viewers)

i watched them dismantle the 10-0 colts for 56 minutes..

maroney with fumble issues and in my opinion got robbed of the first down to ice the game.

granted that was probably there best game played this year. but they looked good.

not scared at all.. I can't wait to beat them and really get respect. 10-0 should be respected, but as usually you really only hear about the 10-0 colts. When we take out the pats then the respect will come.

I disagree with on the recievers edge. They have Welker, Moss and Faulk. Who else? We have Colston, Mech, Moore, Shockey,Buch, Thomas ect, ect, ect. You can't focus on one or even two guys and shut us down. You never know who's gonna get the ball because they all get the ball.

1. Randy Moss
2. Wes Welker
3. Sam Aiken
4. Brandon Tate
5. Julian Edelman
6. Matt Slater

Remember Marvin Harrison and Reggie Wayne for the Colts? Same situation here. Randy Moss argulably is the best WR in the game, and Wes Welker is like a Steve Smith (panthers) clone. The simple fact that you have both of them AND a top 5 QB makes this dangerous. This duo is scary good.

Julian Edelman is a poor mans Wes Welker, much like our Lance Moore. He hasn't been getting all the hype, because hes behind a Randy Moss and Wes Welker, but the past 3/4 games hes really been lighting it up.

Same Aiken and Brandon Tate are both really gifted young WR's.

Same goes for NE TE. Chris Baker and Benjamin Watson are used more like WR instead of true blocking TE. Both would be starting material for any other team. Given our lack of dept at LB, this could be a scary matchup

everyone wants to talk about their offense. but they are really just a matter of a couple good recievers, of course they were an offensive juggarnaut when there D was pulling so many 3 and outs for the oppositon. the offense was always on the field.. but where are richard seymour, ty law, wille mcguinnest, asante samuel, randall gay, vrabel, teddy bruschi, junior seau... the pats decided they didnt need any of these guys any more.. which is why they cant beat anyone with a winning record anymore. i think our offense will hang a 40 burger on them with ease.. and we will make them look as poor as we did to the "mighty" new york giants

Also...

please don't confuse what I am saying.

I think we can beat them, but this is going to by far be the hardest game we have played all season.

we cannot afford to turn the ball over, and expect to come back from it. First team to make a mistake will lose the game. This is going to be a shootout.

I say we kick a little *** in this game, people. I have deep concerns about Welker and Moss however. They give me nightmares, given our precarious secondary situation. We run the ball well, we win is how I feel though.

GEAUX SAINTS!

I have some concerns, but nothing more than I did for the Falcons, Giants or any other team. I believe we can win this game by double digits. I ain't scurred!

'Scared' it not the right word. 'Respect' is a better word. 3 Super Bowls, Undefeated regular season, good coach, one of the top quarterbacks in the league. They are consistently one of the best teams in the league every year. They have earned respect.

I'm not that worried about this game at all. Even without Porter, we have one of the best (if not the best) secondary in the league, with the stats to back it up. The Pats are a pass first offense with an anemic running game. That's a matchup in our favor. They're not a team we can afford to spot two scores off turnovers, but if we play our game and win the turnover battle, we should beat them handily in a shootout.

Here's hoping for Sharper to get that record-tying interception return.

Seems to me, they should be scared of us. How the hell are they going to cover a mixture of Shockey, Colston, Meachem, Henderson, Reggie, Thomas (Both Pierre and David), and Bell on the field at the same time? How the hell are they going to run on Ellis, once he comes back? How the hell are they going to protect Brady? We're getting lots of pressure and sacks now...

I think we match up MORE than well against them.

Because they arguably have the best QB in football, the best coach in football,
a pair of the best receivers in football, 1 of the best OL's in football, and a
very competent defense.

Aside from that, I'm not worried.

It is going to be difficult to contain Moss and Welker. Also Maroney seems to have emerged lately as a big threat on the ground.
I like our chances against their defense though.

the patriots have wes welker and randy moss

both are top 10 if not top 5 WR's in the nfl right now

plus tom brady who is a top 3 QB

and a amazing offensive line

id say thats why people are scared of them.

And they may have the best coach in the NFL.

I'm not scared of them, but they are a really good team. They will be the best team we will face this season until the playoffs. We very well could lose this game if we dont take care of the ball. If we can limit the turnovers like we did yesterday, we should win this one, but I believe it will be a close, and very entertaining game.
