With the 9th Pick in the 2025 draft, who should the Saints select? (merged) (52 Viewers)

Bigger faster to me is more athletic, prospect also includes things like vision, balance, etc.

Also you think Bijan is faster than Jeanty? Idk if I agree with that one.

Also is Bijan bigger? I’m seeing Bijan 5’10 215
Jeanty 5’9” 215

All of Bijans speed scores were in the 80ish percentiles, I think Jeanty might beat those numbers at the combine.
Bijan as a PROSPECT is easily above Jeanty. He's bigger, faster, more elusive, and better pass catcher.

Jeanty has him beat at breaking tackles but everything else goes to Bijan.

Bijan is two inches bigger. I would be shocked if Jeanty runs faster than a 4.46.

Combine feels so far away but we will find out some answers then.

Lol Jeanty and Bijan Robinson are the same weight. Trying to bring up height for a RB like it’s an advantage to be 2 inches taller (while being the same weight). If anything that gives Jeanty the advantage being more compact in this scenario.
How many 5'9 RBs are lead backs on the NFL and how many 5'11 backs are?

I love Jeanty's game. I think he's going to be a good one.

I do not think he's on Bijan's level as a prospect. Jeanty's comp to me is Marshawn Lynch, whereas Bijan has Tomlinson upside. Jeanty could end up the better pro but not the better prospect.

Well Ashton Jeanty is listed at 5’9” we will see at the combine. So to answer your question here’s the top 5 all time rushing leader list:

Emmitt Smith- 5’9”
Walter Payton- 5’10”
Frank Gore- 5’9”
Barry Sanders- 5’8”
Adrian Peterson- 6’2”

Currently we could look at the greatest RB in Saints history in Alvin Kamara he measured 5’9.5” at the combine. Or another one of the recent Saints top RB’s Mark Ingram who was also 5’9”.

Of the top 15 RB’s in yards from scrimmage in the NFL this season, 9 of them are shorter than Bijan Robinson.

Jeanty at 5’9” vs Bijan Robinson at 5’11” with both being about 215lbs gives Jeanty the advantage when it comes to size if anything. As mentioned before makes him more compact at the same size, which is likely part of the reason he is so much more effective getting yards after contact.

Seriously asking, what does this mean?

Bijan wins in the projected to be better than someone category? lol.

Are you Stretch Armstrong?
It means that situations matter. McCaffery with the Panthers is different than McCaffrey with the 9ers. Marshawn Lynch with the Bills is different than Lynch with the Seahawks. Barkley with the Giants is different from Barkley with the Eagles.

The better prospect doesn't always have the better career.

This bias on here because he's a Falcon is absolutely insane.

Bijan was considered as "generational" as any running back to come out in the last 15+ years.

He has literally everything you could want from a RB.

His measurables were everything. His production and play showed differently. He was not a dominate player. He was a dangerous player. Big difference. And that’s exactly how his game has translated to the NFL.

Let's see. He's the same size as these guys. Smith and Taylor have 10lbs on him, but the others are the same size.

Barry Sanders 5'8" 203lbs
Emmitt Smith 5'9" 225lbs
Ladanian Tomlinson 5'10" 215lbs
Marshall Faulk 5'10" 211lbs
Jonathan Taylor 5'10" 225
Alvin Kamara 5'10" 215lbs

Mykel Williams or Mason Graham

I'd trade back myself.
I agree with trading back. If they stay put, defensive players, at this point in draft evaluation, are more abundant.

A bit later in the draft, at this point in draft evaluation, they can get what they need.

I think that Egbuka is going to rise in the draft but here's what CBS has today.

it’s being reported that most teams don’t have anywhere near a first round grade for Sanders from Colorado.

Unsurprisingly for anyone who actually watched him play.
I think that he has talent and potential but the lack of offensive line help didn't allow him to show what he has

Because he's unknown and probably, poorly coached, I wouldn't touch him until the third or later

That's not it. I watched quite a few Colorado games. The only time he looked decent was when he was throwing to Travis Hunter, or tucking the ball and scrambling. Outside of that, complete deer in the headlights. He's extremely athletic, as was his father. But he's nowhere near competent college QB level, let alone NFL. I wouldn't touch him at all. Dillion Gabriel right now has draft grades of the 3rd or 4th round and he's easily 5x the QB Sanders ever was, and likely will be. Comparing Sanders to another QB, looks more like comparing him to Terrelle Pryor then anyone else. The only team that was silly enough to draft Pryor was the Raiders.... so looking at Loomis and his recent history I wouldn't be surprised to see him draft Sanders in the 2nd.

Are you including 2023? He looked good when he wasn't running for his life.
