With the 9th Pick in the 2025 draft, who should the Saints select? (merged) (39 Viewers)

Are you including 2023? He looked good when he wasn't running for his life.

No, he didn't. He looked like trash, often played like trash. Did you not see him struggle against KU and KState? No excuse. Offensive line wasn't great but it wasn't bad either. They were regularly giving him 3 seconds plus in the pocket and he was still struggling to play well against teams stacked with talent that would never make an NFL roster. Sanders is just trash by NFL standards. KU's defense even made Josh Hoover from TCU look all-pro, but Sanders struggled.

We are selecting that Defensive end from Penn state to replace Cam Jordan or we will go get an offensive guard after the turntable we’ve had this year at that position. We can grab a good wr in the 2nd round with Kyren lacy or the kid from ole Miss. after that, I’m looking at LB, Safety, TE, Center, QB (ole Miss qb) ,etc.

His measurables were everything. His production and play showed differently. He was not a dominate player. He was a dangerous player. Big difference. And that’s exactly how his game has translated to the NFL.
He's not dominant?

He's 4th in the NFL in rushing yards. On 40 something less carries. 5th in the entire NFL in total yards.

That's pretty much exactly what you want from a RB you draft in the top 10.

He is not a dominate player. Defenses don't put 8 in the box against him often. He's constantly running against 7 man fronts, and he rarely ever takes over the game and carries his offense. He's good, really good. But he's not dominate. Derrek Henry is dominate. Saquon Barkley has been dominate for the Eagles. Robinson is dangerous. And don't throw stats out to manipulate. Josh Jacobs is right there with him and Jacobs isn't talked about as a dominate player much and the packers tend to face more 8 man fronts then the Falcons.

And the reason your stats are trash, is yes, Kyren Williams has 40 more attempts for only 10 or so more yards, but you're not mentioning how many of those extra carries came when the Rams had large leads late in the game, the Rams were trying to run out the clock and the defenses were putting 8 or 9 in the box to get possession back.

After watching him in the bowl game, I'm not so high on him now. I mean, I won't be mad if we pick him, but there are other needs also.
He did have a bad game. AND still had 104 yds rushing. Show me how many other running backs have bad games and still get to the century mark. Not many, I’ll take him and another RB later like Skat or Ollie Gordon III and run every down, our games would take 2 1/2 hours. Until we get our QB we need RBs by committee.

I keep finding myself either trading up slightly for TMac or trading back slightly for Warren…. Which probably means we will stay put and take a DB.

Keep in mind he rushed 30 times, which is 3 yards per carry. Not very good.

We have AK, Miller and if CEH sticks around and produces, we aren't too bad off in the short term.

That said, 10th pick should be a BPA type pick. If he's on the board and the best option, then fine. We'll see.

Man watching Rattler so far today. I gotta say I love the thought of a guy like Tetairoa Mcmillan or Tre Harris getting some of these passes that MVS is getting in the end zone. Have a feeling those guys come away with at least 1 touchdown on those throws.

TMAC, yes! Tre Harris, no, especially in RD1. Id rather us grab Jack Bech (TCU), Savion Williams (TCU), Elic Eyomanor (Stanford) or Jayden Higgens (Iowa St) on Day2. I personally think that after TMAC, this WR class is wide open. TMAC’s the most complete prospect at the position & its not even close. He has the measurables & literally does everything you want a franchise WR1 to do. TMAC is a bigger faster version of Mike T.

If we miss on TMAC in RD1, id love us to target one, or even both, of the TCU receivers. Bech is a chain moving possession specialist w/big play potential & mismatch ability in the redzone. I personally think Bech has one of the highest floors of all the WRs in this draft because of his hands. Savion Williams is a straight up offensive weapon, PEEP THIS GUY IF YOU HAVENT ALREADY. Want a dude who can take over Taysom’s multiple rolls on offensive? Look no further than Savion Williams. The dude lines up EVERYWHERE as a receiver, he lines up at RB, & takes a ton of snaps at QB. Those TCU guys got it done this year & blew ip their draft status.

Tetairoa is basically Tee Higgins. Which I’d obviously love to have in our WR room.

I’ll take Tre Harris over any of those guys with no hesitation. Harris has the traits to be a very good NFL WR. Savion is fun, but he’s not refined and has inconsistent hands. I like him as a gadget player, but as more of a 3rd/4th round project. Tre Harris should be a much better WR in the NFL. Has great hands, excellent body control and ability to win contested catches, possesses prototypical size at WR, has shown he can win at each level of the field. Had he not gotten hurt with the muscle injury he’s dealing with his hype would like be through the roof with how good he was playing (in the SEC) this season.

...you want to take a Guard in the top ten. ...really.

Cam Newton, Kelvin Benjamin treatment. He misses high, get him taller/longer WRs w/ huge catch radius while he works on his ball location.
