I’ve never understood why more teams don’t play those short passes to players on the end of the defensive wall or in this case the middle of the offensive wall.

Great FK, now they need to go on and win it.

at angle and pace you would need, too easy for someone in the wall to steal and counter
and even if you complete the pass, everyone else is offsides to do anything dangerous

I have to think it worked because it was literally the LAST possession Dutch would have.

Arg was so focused on shot, defending out and whistle blows. NO one expected - so i think that play was perfect for that moment.
