WR Tet McMillan as the Saints pick at #9? (84 Viewers)

He's the guy I want..we can't be trotting out Olave as our number 1, we need a bigger WR to go over the middle. Jeanty would be nice but Miller has played well when given the chance.
If Carr is your QB does it really matter if we have a #1 wr? Give me a RUNNING GAME

This is my line of thinking. Tet won't be a monster with a QB like Carr. He'll make some splash plays but there won't be consistency in production due to Carr and Moore's run preference offense. I just don't see the value in the selection unless you're targeting a 3+ year plan to build for a passing offense (in our scenario).

Moore has been pretty clear he suites his offense to his players not what a specific style of play. Obviously with Barkley last year they dominated in the run game. However the year before with the Chargers Keenan Allen was having a career year despite missing 4 games. Whether we get a guy like Tetairoa, Jeanty, or Warren, I think Moore will do a good job of getting the most out of our top playmakers.

Carr most likely going to be gone after this year, he’s not in our plans in the future

I'll say this...

When Mickey was asked if he was confident in Carr he said something to the degree of "yes i feel good about Derek. I'm not sure if he qualified but he would have been top 10 in QB rating, top 10 in INT ratio, top 10 in completion percentage. he had some circumstances that affected his play. Middle of the oline gets lost, and you're down your top 2 WR's."

There was a bit more, but that last part about WR combined w/ their attempt to sign Kupp suggest that they want to upgrade the position. I still think there's potential for them to move up and try to get Ward (who I think can perform well without a #1) but if they don't and they have to move forward w/ Carr and Rattler they'd be wise to get a big bodied pass catcher

I have this weird feeling Michael Thomas may come back or we’re about to sign Amari Cooper.

Welp. So much for this being the pick.

He’s been infected by the Curse of Cam.
lol Ian gone lie having somebody that could catch like that would be lovely especially how Carr likes to close his eyes and throw it 50 yards down field

Wouldn’t rule out Keenan Allen with our coaching connections to him as well.

I hope not. He's not good anymore. He super struggles to get any separation. Injuries and age have sapped his capabilities completely. I wouldn't even be confident in him being our 3rd best receiver. It's the Bears are letting him walk.

You just mentioned Amari Cooper and Michael Thomas in your previous post. Of the 3 older vets, I’d easily take Keenan Allen. He thrived in 2023 (career best season) with Kellen Moore. The Bears offense was a mess last year hard to say how much was on Keenan Allen and how much on the system.

That's a fair point. I just remember watching a couple of games and he couldn't get any separation at all it seemed. If signing him increases our odds somehow of targeting Jeanty over drafting Tet, I think I would prefer it (I'm just not a fan of drafting 1st round WR's if I'm being honest. I think Stallworth, Cooks and Meachem created a bit of bias in me in that regard much like Browns fans likely feel towards drafting or signing QB's).

That’s somebody that’s has a feel for the game and how to maneuver people that was beautiful
