Yellowstone tv show (1 Viewer)

They have definitely ratcheted it up in both categories. I think that has to do with wanting to continue to jar the audience and you become desensitized to it so to get the reaction you have to step it up.
Agreed!

Is anyone else having a hard time really getting interested in this season?
I think the issue is that there was a conversation that needed to take place in the writer's room last year, and it didn't happen. That conversation would have gone something like this:

Exec 1: "Guys, I finished reading through the story for this season, and I have a quick question. We are building to a dramatic finale' where John wins the governorship, punking out Jamie, and Beth forces Jamie to kill his father and takes photos, right?"
Exec 2: "Yeah, that's going to be an awesome end to the season."
Exec 1: "You DO realize that's also the beginning of next season, right?"
Exec 2: "What do you mean?"
Exec 1: "So, next season will see John taking the governor's desk, so he won't be able to be involved in the day to day operations of the ranch, and he'll have to make sure he keeps his nose somewhat clean. And, Jamie will be essentially neutered, since anything he tries to do will risk him being outed as a murderer. Has anyone thought about what we will do next season?"
Exec 2: "It'll probably be ok."

Also, on a side note. I think the reason we've had so much Beth this season is that I think this season is her big goodbye. I suspect she dies before it's over.

I want to know why when everyone wanted to dance Piper Perabo didn’t steal the show by singing “Can’t fight the Moonlight”.

No way they kill off Beth. They'd lose half their audience. She's the show's primary draw.

When the most interesting scene is the one that opens up the episode, you know there is a problem. Seeing young Rip dedicate himself to the Duttons was a good scene, then it was downhill from there. Unless there are some surprises coming in the second half, this will go down as the worst season of the franchise.

Not a regular viewer but I've caught a few of the past seasons. Holy murderous rampage... One show I caught I think it was a season premier or cliff hanger I bet they killed 20 people. It's the 2020's version of Miami Vice but take out the vice squad and insert Cow Police turn Jan Hammer synthesizers into Western music exchange Ferrari for F-350's and South Beach for Montana.

I'm still digg'n it!!! I grew tired of the over-the-top Beth is a B routine and I'm glad they toned that down. :hihi:

Seriously, this slow build up is a welcomed change of pace! This upcoming fight with Jamie will be their last. He has continually gone against the Dutton's; despite the fact that he has lost spectacularly each time.

I like what they are doing with Summer (Piper Perabo) in providing her insight on who they are and what they actually do and at the same time they are providing their audience the same insight.

There wasn't a bar around to stand on.

I just learned like 2 shows ago her character's name was Summer.

BTW, the first episode of the new spinoff '1923' starring cowboy commissioner Han Solo and Helen Mirren dropped...

I do watch it , but your wife is right , there is no need for the sex scenes and the "F" bombs . I do like the theme " this is our land ! " and no one else is entitled to it . To me it makes common sense , there are a lot of people out there that think they are entitled to what you have or how you should think . Just my two cents
If you don't like sex and cursing, then don't watch. No one is forcing you to...
