N/S Cutler trade to Bears (mega merge)

dam. worst case scenario. I hate the Bears lots more than I hate the Bucs. Now I fear the Bears even more with this offense and the defense they already have. God no :banghead::banghead::banghead:

Now I wonder how long it will be before Cutler starts demanding a new big time contract.

I'll admit that I was surprised by the two first and a third (get a fifth back) and Orton. I like Cutler and this is huge for Chicago. Just didn't think it would take that much to get him.

A 24 year old elite QB wasn't going to come cheap. Whoever traded for him was going to give up the farm.

they are a contender again...just glad its not the bucs
I seriously doubt it! You must think Cutler is just that good. Who's he gonna throw to? Who's gonna compliment Matt Forte. Besides Rickey Manning Jr., and Brian Urlacher, who are they gonna scare with their defense? Nothing in Chicago screams, "hey world, we are getting better"!

Cutler has only proven one thing thus far, and that's Cutler having huge arm strength. Yeah I know he threw for over 4,000 yards before, and made a ProBowl, IMO by default. ProBowl really doesn't mean much anymore. Too many really good atheletes get snubbed...ala Brees

Jay Cutler=Aaron Brooks
Strong arm, horrible mechanics, non-leader!

+1

i believe in Cutler as a franchise QB, and i dont necessarily think the bears got screwed, but they definitely paid a steep price.

Thing is first round picks bust out OFTEN. Some of our best players are from rounds 2-4. I have no problem giving 2 firsts. We have a run game now thanks to round two.

I was screaming in my car as I was driving home and people were looking at me like I was crazy. No need for you guys to comment on that BTW.

I AM A HAPPY MAN TONIGHT TIME FOR SOME WHISKEY

It's kinda cool that you're here with us and please don't take my post(s) about the Bears personal

That is WAYYYYYY harsh... Cutler is a very good QB.

Three different compensation reports:

UPDATE: John Clayton of ESPN.com says that the deal involves the Broncos getting Orton and two first-round picks, and the Bears getting Cutler and a third-round pick.

SECOND UPDATE: Glazer now reports that it’s two first-round picks and Orton for Cutler and a five.

THIRD UPDATE: NFL.com reports that the Bears are giving up two first-rounder, a third-rounder, and Orton for only Cutler.

Until week 9, when Orton hurt his ankle he had thrown 10 TD's to only 4 INT's and had a passer rating of 89.9 and had completed 61.5% of his passes. He may not be great but he can be decent. It is also pretty well documented that he rushed himself back into the lineup as the Bears were contending for a playoff spot. Again, he isn't fabulous, but there is at least something to feel alright about.

When Aaron Brooks throws for 4500 yards and 25 TD's you let me know.

Horrible mechanics? Who told you that? Cutler has never had bad mechanics.

Bears fans are a tough bunch. They have to have mixed feelings about having a crybaby for a QB. Glad because they haven't had a qb since McMahon, but probably wishing they had more of a leader.
