N/S Cutler trade to Bears (mega merge) (3 Viewers)

Wow, who would have thought the Bears would finally address QB after decades.

I wonder if they offered a 1st and 2nd but had to go to two 1sts with Orton in the deal.

Yeah really! I thought that Grossman and then Orton were their QBs of the future.

:smilielol:

Cutler is in that group right behind Manning, Brady, and Brees.

agreed. Culter is not in the top tier. he is in there with Rivers, Rodgers, McNabb, a few other guys. even Matt Ryan could be considered on par with Cutler. I believe Cutler is a good QB, and good for the Bears they have finally got somebody to settle into that role, however they still have other holes to fill and they did pay a hefty price. i say the trade worked out for both sides.

That trade is a joke. It begs the question: How tall was that glass of stupid the Broncos were drinking to make the Bears look so smart? You give away a Pro Bowl QB who led the 2nd ranked offense in the entire league? And for what... coveting Matt "flash in the pan" Cassel? and just to add another layer of rampant stupidity - their defense was ranked 29th! Talk about chopping off your one good leg...

This is one of the dumbest trades I've ever seen - I am not exaggerating. As much as they want to claim they got some great draft picks out of the deal, I wouldn't trust the Bronco FO to draft for a tee-ball league. If I was a Denver fan, I'd be absolutely livid. And the sprinkles on the doughnut- the Bears ... the friggin BEARS are the beneficiary of it all.

This isn't some modern day Herschel Walker trade. Not at all. It's a bunch of morons getting paid way too much money just to ruin an NFL franchise. Somehow, someway, Matt Millen is behind this. I'm sure of it.

He reminds me a little of Brett Favre. He is a gunslinger and i do not see how he fits into the Marty ball style the Bears play. I predict a very lopsided TD and INT ratio.
Actually....The Bears don't play "Marty Ball". Ron Turner is their OC. He isn't the "traditional" West-Coast OC many make him out to be. Turner LOVES to put the ball in the air. Some would say too much. When Grossman was having his "mental" meltdowns Turner refused to ease him along. He was enamored like many in Chicago with Grossman's arm strength. Grossman however did not have the heart or brains to match his arm. This is Turner's 2nd stint as Chicago's OC. In 1995 the Bears were 4th in the league in passing, many don't realize this. Their leading rusher that year was the great Rasaan Saalam. :smilielol: The Bears will be MUCH more wide open then they were with Orton. Turner knew he was limited in what he could do with Orton. His play calling showed this. If you are expecting Marty ball when we play them you will be disappointed.

Everyone saying that the Bears are contenders now has forgotten they also signed Bullocks.

To play special teams. They drafted a CB who they converted to FS. Bowman. Bullocks will be a special team player there are at least 3 Bears safeties ahead of him.

Including the one they took from us and then proceeded to stink up Super Bowl XLI! Right on brockmeaux! I wanna puke every time I hear a Bears fan whine. I hate the Bears.

:plus-un2:
They stuck it up no worse than we did in the NFCN game. They ran ALL over us in that game.

Although they lost by 12 the Bears were within 5 in the 4th quarter. It was 22-17. If Grossman doesn't throw that INT who knows.
