Saints players and other key sports and public figures are angry at Drew Brees for his anthem comments (1 Viewer)

"Perhaps" isn't a very strong rebuttal though, is it now?

We each speak for ourselves. Nothing wrong with pointing out how some things become group think though, right?

Do those white lives matter though?

Per arrest for a violent crime, a white person is more likely than a black person to be killed by the police.

But thats not the RIGHT opinion hence you are racist

Love to find the original Kaepernick thread when he first knelt. Wonder how many opinions have changed.

man i just got a drew brees mcfarlane figure in the mail today i still love that guy with all my heart.
it is my extreme hope that he will reflect, read and get outside his comfort zone of white privilege and entitlement in this instance.

I have a question that maybe a person of color could answer. Why does the knee need to happen during the national anthem? Is there no other time that it would be possible without drawing the ire of the patriots around the country? I am not making light of the cause of BLM by asking this . I just want to know why its important to insult the flag and country for the cause. Help me understand.

The same reason these guys didn't decide to do this during warm ups or something? (And what Housecall posted...)

Brees has found out how real his love from fans/teammates really was. One statement of opinion and he is cancelled. If you don't toe the progressive line you are the enemy. Those that claim to want healing are only interested in their own agenda.

I think It is a bit of overreaction by some of the people bashing Brees and I mean those people who knows Brees is a good person.

I'm totally fine with pointing he is ignorant about the real issue and saying he misses the point and understand people that don't know him bashing him but people that are supposed to be his friends burying him and making him public enemy number one is a little too much. If he was unknown to Jenkins and the other guys I would get it, like I get the response from twitter but people close to him should know he is not a bad person to deserve what will come his way from now on.

That's right. We want people to join the anti-racism agenda. Sorry if that's too much for you.

My statement was general. You went on to a specific situation. Even that topic can be discussed openingly. Or will I be labeled if I don't agree with you?
Are you unhappy because I have you a specific example of why your thinking was flawed?

I'm not much for labels or people with the incessant need to assign labels to peolle. I have no allegiance to anyone or anything other than knowledge and understanding. My desire for this is what is most important to me and I have no trouble accepting a previously held belief was wrong. I tell you this in the event that you feel the need to place me inside one of your boxes to justify your own lack of understanding.

I can tell you don't read much. But just in case you pick up the hobby-- read about Tulsa riots. Even other riots in more modern times were in response to the assassination of Dr King, the beating of Rodney King, the murders of Trayvon, Mike Brown, et al., and now George Floyd. Do you notice a pattern here? Or are you just concerned with protecting Macy's? Because that's cool too. I like Macy's as well. But tell the whole story. The riots don't happen out of thin air. Nobody says "Let's riot because it's Tuesday."

But I know you don't really care. I wrote that just in case someone else does.

Was that dig really necessary? My point proven for a third time, any kind of idea that doesn't follow a pro-black, pro-violence agenda is automatically deemed wrong, among being treated like a subspecies. Get over yourself.

What all those have in common? Use your head, if you think you're that intelligent. They're all a vicious circle of the an obvious conclusion. Violent protests and rioting never work. They don't need to happen at all.

Protecting Macy's, eh? Not at all. I'd just rather not have a window being busted through with guys packing and waving around guns, repping their colors while I'm trying to buy my TWELVE year old niece a few things - on Rodeo Drive, of all places. But yeah, as long as it's '4 fLoYdd', destroying things, waving guns around in front of children, and repeatedly hearing about how Shoe Palace or BestBuy was busted into for free TVs is totally the right thing to do. That's fine, though, right? As long as you're doing it for 'the cause', promotion of cultural bias is totally okay.

That's fine, though. Believe what you want, since you're already making assumptions. White people are Trump-adoring Arians and all the cops on the planet are evil because of how a few choose to act. That logic is horrifying, and the hypocrisy in all this reverse-racism is almost funny.

This is exactly correct.. You can only have ONE opinion or you are blasted as racists.... Does not matter Drew's actions in regards to the black community over the years. Nothing matter but the RIGHT opinion. Does not matter that there are so many ways to protest that does not involve a national symbol.. Nothing matters but the RIGHT opinion. Does not matter that a person can have a lifetime of crossing and healing racial barriers... Nothing matters but the RIGHT opinion.

No if you don't agree with the RIGHT opinion you are racists. NOTHING else matters
Question!!! What was taken from Brees or fans like yourself when Kap took a knee for the National Anthem? What was taken from Kap when he took a knee?
