Looks they had it timed with a bump in the road land mark. As soon as the hit that mark they fired. Not certain. Just appears like that to me.

You have good eyes. I had seen that video and missed that fine point.

They were taking advantage of a weak spot in the hull's armor which is usually protected by the wheels which guide the track. When the BMP hit that bump the lead wheels were pressed up, then when they topped over the bump they extended down opening up that spot where the RPG hit the unprotected side of the hull.

That would have been a fleeting small spot of vulnerability created by a bump to aim for. What normally would have happened is the RPG would have hit a wheel and knocked it off instead.
