Titanic submersible es morte (1 Viewer)

Wasn't just talking about Matt Walsh. It's a common instinct among his ilk. And from all these drawn out diatribes you've been posting about very particular historical events and ostensibly righteous defenses of the ultra rich, you just might be in that number.

And that's fine. People are certainly entitled to their beliefs and disagreements. We go through this all the time on this board. But let's maybe turn the knob down on the moral vitriol.
It’s still immoral and unethical to go online on social media outlets and openly say you’re glad, happy, and that the world will now be a slightly better place now that these wealthy tourists are dead. I’m far from being rich or extremely wealthy, but it’s wrong to openly cheer and celebrate someone’s death, no matter how much one may disagree with them politically, morally etc even if their Ted Turner, AOC, Bernie Sanders, Steve Scalise, etc.

It’s as much as a tragedy as North African, ME migrants desperately trying to escape and travel to European countries in overcrowded boats to find a better lives and they capsize and most on-board are killed. Same thing for millions of Ukrainians forced to flee from cities like Kviv, Bakhmut, Kherson, Kharkiv, Odessa over the past 16 months because some deluded, fanatical Russian ultranationalist believes Ukraine has no sovereign independent right to exist on its own without being under Russian dominance or control.

Just speaking for myself here, but I'm not glad these people died. It is tragic, but it's not a tragedy of desperation. These people were not trying to escape extreme poverty or violent persecution. They weren't avoiding getting caught in the crossfire of a war they were not a part of. They were partaking in a luxury afforded to the very few in a little adventure can to look at a crusty arse ship.

And from what I've been gathering these past couple days this almost seemed like an inevitabilty. The absolute hubris of this CEO to keep carrying this operation on as long as he has is insane. The risks were present this whole time and were willfully ignored, probably without the guests fully understanding exactly how risky it is.

What I maybe am guilty of is enjoying the memes. Call me a basic birch if you must, I won't disagree with you. A lot of the memes were good. Especially the orca ones. I mean how often do we get two news cycle events that line up so perfectly for this kind of content?

I think it’s a natural product of dramatic concentration of wealth. Is any of it actually moral?

The 10 richest people in the world own more than the bottom 3.5 billion people. That’s almost half of the world population. I think some cynicism is forgivable. Yes those billionaires died but somewhere between 10k and 15k people starved today. And yesterday.

I’m not saying any of it is right or wrong, but it does indeed seem to be a symptom of something larger that is very real.
My problem really is it's just a horrible way to think and says a lot about someone's character when they're openly willing to celebrate someone's death because they're wealthy. How would it be viewed if I was said I was glad those 10-15k people starved based on the argument they were poor drains on society that had nothing to offer? I don't think that way but to me that's the exact same thing as celebrating someone's death because they were rich. I'm guessing pretty much all of them didn't know any of these people personally so they knew nothing about them other than they had money. I've personally known 2 people that I would consider probably close to the same tax bracket as these people and both were nice family men that were friendly.

The memes were hilarious, I will give you that. Especially the ones with blue sperm whales banging on pots and pans being responsible for those banging noises rescuers were hearing during the attempts to rescue them. It’s not really trying to be offensive more so to lighten up the mood of a tense, trying situation.

Lol the way the uber rich in this country lobby politicians so that they pass bills, enact laws & start wars to protect the assets of the wealthy at the expense of everyone else… I do have a hard time feeling sorry that they died on this clown car to visit a pineapple under the sea…

I feel bad for the kid who was just trying to make his hare-brained father happy. I feel bad for his mother who lost both her husband and a child.

It’s unfortunate yes but I just can’t help but feel as though this is the way the pendulum swings sometimes.

About like this.

Very similar, but due to relative negative pressure. Much like the Byford Dolphin incident
There's a lot more very graphic things to be found about this so viewer discretion is advised should you google it. Moral of the story is the depths of the ocean are insanely dangerous and should be treated as such. Any pressure above or below atmospheric is not to be played with.
