Titanic submersible es morte (3 Viewers)

Yea, ya'll really should keep in mind the craziest voices tend to be the loudest. Twitter comments are the exception, not the rule.

Nothing at all, but there are quite a few Tweets out there using it to score political points.

That said, that applies to just about any kind of news.
I can’t decide which is my favorite “The submarine crew was woke diversity hires and that caused this mess” or “the CEO was a Republican donor so Biden had him blowed up and this is all a distraction from Hunter being convicted.”

But again, the comments are often a cesspool. I wouldn't put much stock in the comments. A lot of them are simply idiots with an opinion.
Yes I agree. @SWJJ said he hasn’t seen any comments like that. I simply said “found one” on the first link I opened today about the sub. My assumption would be the vast majority of people are like me. And I believe the loss of human life sucks, I empathize with the families. The situation is hilarious though. The idea that people would go down on this thing blows my mind. And I saw on twitter that a guy that writes for the Simpson has been down on it.

You can always find a troll deep in the comments. It was represented earlier in this thread by the morally outraged crowd that they saw "30-40 tweets rejoicing in how these guys might be dead"

I think after the first "lost communication" in shallower dives I'd be like you know what I'm good. You can keep the $250K and I'll just stay up here and not go all the way down to a watery grave.

uhh a billion is a thousand million.

A Trillion is a million million.
If you don't know what SoTB is, it stands for South of The Border, the U.S. - MX border. In MX (and I believe the rest of the Spanish speaking world) a billion is a million million.

Here is a link that describes the costs of a train that's being built between Cancun and Palenque:

Even if you don't speak Spanish, you can tell what it says:
El monto original del proyecto era de 120,000 millones de pesos; actualmente la inversión requerida será por 299,367 millones.

So, uhh to you to, Sir.

Another fun SoTB fact: tons in the U.S. are not the same as tons in MX (and most the rest of the world). A U.S. ton (or short ton) is 2000lbs, most everywhere else is 1000 kilos, or 2200+ lbs. There's also the long ton, used in England (entire UK?) that's a few kilos more than 1000 kilos.

I went through the trouble of having all that translated and it makes no attempt to convert millions to billions.

Math is math no matter which side of the border you are on.

A million million is a trillion, not a billion.

Fin de la historiafin

I read that an implosion happens in 1 millisecond, while the brain only processes important events at 25 milliseconds.

It makes me wonder if they had any signs beforehand that the hull was not stable.
