Vehicle plows into crowd on Bourbon St., with 14 fatalities (3 Viewers)

I read that the suspect crossed the border at Eagle Pass two days ago

I sure hope that the media news reports get out as quickly as possible that the person(s) involved with this crime is not attached to the city of New Orleans in any way. The narrative needs to be that the city was victimized by someone from outside this area and is not part of any local gang or hate group. This attack could have literally happened in any city around the country.

Yeah, heard that but confused me given that the truck has Texas plates to a rental place and we don't yet have an ID on the perp himself. So was it the truck that was tracked with him in it or what?

What difference does that make?

They're now saying it was in November and that driver is not the suspect. If it is indeed a rental that would make sense.
Yeah, makes sense. So still nothing about this guy himself

Well, even if the individual was from NO, that shouldn't matter. There are bat sheet people in every city.

4 years ago and then 2 years ago, I think my timeline may be off a little. A drunk person drove into a crowd during Mardi Gras.
Here's the thread on the older of those

No idea. Sad part is that I left thinking how great the people were being last night

so... the suspect was stopped by an illegally parked piece of construction equipment.

That’s naturally New Orleans.
Oh, that crane was illegally parked? There is nothing funny about this obvs but, yeah, that's, well, of course.

It appears (possibly) quite different, but did remind me some of the X-Mas parade attack in Waukesha--a suburb of Milwaukee, from a few years ago. A criminal maniac, Darrell Brooks (needlessly out on bond for violent crimes) plowed thru people. The city then spent a lot on (millions) for metal barricades.
