Nope. Not opposed to it at all. In fact, I was going to go to Thailand in December. I have really good friends from my days back in Houston who are expats living in Perth but they are both Thai. Husband's family is in Chiang Mai and wife's family in Bangkok. They go every year for 3-4 weeks at Christmas and invited me to go this year. I kept asking if they had booked their flights, etc. and they had not. When they finally did it was sort of last minute (like a month prior) and I was going through this big transition at work and bosses were flipping out about Q4/2024 revenue, kept making comments about people taking time off, etc. so I decided it wasn't the best time to put in for 2-3 weeks vacation since we are in a perpetual state of layoffs.I could have sworn you’d said you had been here, like i would have put actual money on it .
But their comment was "well we go every year so plenty of opportunities to join us".... I'll go one day.
Yet another way corporate America has pained my soul.
