Movies from when we were kids

Clash of the Titans (Hamlin original)

the older Harryhausen movies too, Sinbad, Jason & the Argonauts

Watched THEM! last night and watching Creature from the Black Lagoon right now on Svengoolie.
Oh, crap, I was gonna watch that.

And here I thought this bump was gonna be about how Snow White and the CGI Dwarves and the Hot Dominatrix Evil Queen reminded them of the 1937 Snow White.

I watched Chitty Chitty Bang Bang for the first time last year

It was one of those movies I’d always heard about but for some reason never watched

I actually teared up a little, not because of anything in the movie

But the whole thing reminded me so much of watching those live action 50s and 60s Disney movies as a kid, first renting them from the local video store then a bit later on the Disney Channel

Even though it was my first time seeing it, for an instant I wasn’t watching it on my big screen TV I was transported back to my 1982 basement still decked out in 70s earth tones lying on the carpet in my toughskin jeans

80s Tom Hanks

Splash
Big
Money Pit
The Burbs
Turner & Hooch
Dragnet
Only one of those that "holds up" is Big. I could watch that over and over. Turner & Hooch is second (but only for the dog that's so ugly he's cute). All of those others hold no nostalgia for me.

Probably almost 10 years ago I bought the entire Jonny Quest 1st season and my favorite Disney special movie......Charlie, the Lonesome Cougar.....I swear I only watch them occasionally.....really.......

Wife was watching Big last week. I joined her later in the movie and yeah, it still touches relevant topics we deal with in every era.

Can’t understand how anyone over 20 has never seen that movie I realize it hasn’t been on tv for years but a parent since then should have made sure their kids have seen such a great movie.

Late last night I couldn’t get to sleep so I finally put on MAX looking for an old movie that usually would bore me to sleep. I found a 1951 Gregory speck movie called “Captain Horatio Hornblower” I haven’t seen that movie in at least 40 years but the first time was when I was about 10-11 years old and got me into reading more adult level books.

First movie I remember seeing in the theaters was a double feature:

Godzilla vs. Megalon
Godzilla vs. The Smog Monster

I have bought and framed the movie posters (not originals).
