2006 Election Projections (1 Viewer)

Looking at the precincts left to report they are almost all strong Webb areas.

Wow, that is close. CNN is saying most of the places that have not been counted are in urban areas like Baltimore city.

If Baltimore City is voting in the Allen-Webb election, then there DEFINITELY needs to be an investigation.

However, i would not put ANYTHING past anyone in this contest.

Oh my.

Tester is up 51-46 with only 10% reporting via MSNBC

Talent still far ahead in Missouri
I think they will declare Corker the winner in Tennessee at any moment.

This is fun. I hope it does come down to Montana. I don't think there is any way Conrad Burns gets the win. I talked to too many old time farmers there when I was back, guys who never, ever voted for a Democrat in thier life saying that Burns had to go. These people are his base. And after all the kickbacks frm Abramhoff, the bribes to help Indian Casinos in Minnesota, while not even visiting the Montana tribes, and last but not least his wonderful on camera reaming of some forest fire fighters after they had spent way too much time on the lines. He is a wonderful individual.

OK, I tried to stay up in the past and it's looking like it's gonna be a long night. so , I'm out. been a fun night, fellas.

I want to go out too, but I gotta wait till Tennessee is called.

Well, I am surprised, so who knows. The rest of the country must be a much different politcal atmosphere than LA, which really didn't reflect any big change. People will blame Bush for outcome. And of course, he has to get some blame. However, Republicans leadership in Congress was really weak and they didn't seem to muster much defense to the Dem strategy. Why am I only hearing today that Dem, Alcee Hastings, an impeached federal judge, might chair the Intelligence Committee, a guy who took 150K in bribes? Then, we all know about Jefferson's refrigerator money here. It doesn't seem like the Reps made any counterpunches to accusations of being party of corruption. Hastert is no loss as speaker, a guy who defended Congressmens's rights to hide documents in their offices to avoid prosecution and insulted LA. But Pelosi, now?

looks like slightly over 50% the Dems win the Senate. Montana will go Dem and Missouri looks "likely" to slide Dem. It's probably going to come down to the Virginia recount which will take forever, draw way to much publicity, and not overturn 3,000 votes in the end (recounts never do) giving the Dems a slim 51-49.

But Missouri could not slid, no one is really an expert on Montana so who knows, and strange things can happen in a recount so, who knows.

We probably won't for another 2 months.

VA election has to be one of the best ever for political junkies. You get racial scandals, assault charges on campaign workers, accusations of NAMBLA support, voter suppression/intimidation, FBI investigations, and a recount.

99.26% in
J H Webb Jr Democratic 1,148,750 49.44%
G F Allen Republican 1,146,952 49.36%
G G Parker Independent Green 25,719 1.11%

Well it's one of the worst ever for people who consider politics something a little more idealistic, and not just a game to keep up with like the NFL draft or College recruiting.

Lots of comments tomorrow. But for now,

A) Thank God for gridlock
B) The Democrats will have some interesting players and have gone conservative in many districts to win (moving the political center of the US farther right but shifting the power farther left)
C) Henry Waxman should be ALL OVER our formerly Government-in-Secret and I hope he starts at least 50,000 investigations to get answers from those we elected who refused to provide them
D) Did I say thank God for gridlock? Thank God for the temporary end to 1 party rule.

...What, exactly, is wrong with Nancy Pelosi?? She is, among other things, prepared to hold Dubya accountable for the Iraq debacle, and she seems to be in New Orleans' corner........

As long as Ds and Rs are in power idealism is misery.

Missouri is seeing some movement, CNN's numbers have been jumping around.

The precincts coming in should be largely Dem areas. Movement should be geared towards them. Whether it'll be enough is the question, but the early guess is it will.
