Make that number closer to 700,000K customers without power (693,600) by now. That estimate should go surpass 1 million customers within a hour or two. Unlike Helene and even though Milton's not as strong of a hurricane, the fact that its hitting a higher, densely-populated region near Tampa/St. Petersburg/Clearwater, the potential for more extreme damage from storm surge, severe thunderstorms, and damaging tornadoes along Florida's west coast and inland towards Orlando, Daytona Beach, and St. Augustine is more likely.
