Holy sheet this is a lot of water. It pretty much poured all night and showing no signs of letting up. I’m sure downtown Charleston and other low lying areas are under water.

I just did a lap around my house - bayou boy in boxer shorts, a raincoat and shrimp boots. I’m pleased with my drainage including the makeshift channels I dug yesterday.

We’ve got two more days to go - lawd

Charleston is flooded but I’ve seen it worse many times. I’ll throw some drone vid up.

Dude, I know you’re working and all but still

Right now the timing of the rain has been good for downtown. The heavy stuff has been between the tides. Slacked off and doesn’t look like any new bands lined up yet - high tide at 10am

I realize all that. Also realize that calling for historic flooding with 2016 as a high water mark is insane. It was a 1/1000 year flood for a reason. Doesnt mean it wont get bad and I’m here for a reason.

I meant the part about you not calling me - the second paragraph was just an unrelated observation. 😁

But I’m kidding - I know you got stuff to do.

Do you mean the October 2015 rain event? I had been here just a couple of months. That sheet was crazy

And in the midst of all the SC weather ongoings, my niece is there getting ready to have her first bebe... due in two days. She's located near one of the Marine bases.... I told her, she'll start feeling contractions right after the power is out and the roads have closed...

We're now at 9 inches for the 2-day total in my area.

Down by Kiawah, they're at 13 inches of rain.

Mount Pleasant, where I am, is now over 14 inches in the past 72 hours.

But it hasn’t really accumulated in my area, there have been gaps in the rain and good drainage.
