2024 Tropical Weather Thread (2 Viewers)

Some good news for you. Payton Malone on WWL TV just said that the pressure actually just rose a little bit and he sees the storm opening up which to him means that the winds may not get above 90 MPH which is where it is now.

Looking at the flight info on Tropical Tidbits, the extrapolated pressure has been rising during the course of the flight.

Was just listening to my local met on his Facebook video. He said the eye is vertically tilted, so it's being impacted by shear. Not able to really get its act together and get stronger, which is good.

That’s an unexpected place to lose power
I do know they’ve been doing a poopload of roadwork in that area so maybe that’s a factor, but that’s a hospital corridor so power lose is no bueno

The good news is that the winds are still low enough for them to get out there and fix it.

which gives it priority and will be restored asap.

the whole "failing" narrative is a bit feeble- seems like its just "low hanging fruit" at this juncture. One of the reasons we are over-exposed to tropical systems and other high wind events is due to the above-ground electrical infrastructure that we have no real choice to do in the GNO area.
