A microcosm of Winston’s career (1 Viewer)

I don’t know what else people need to see that he’s not a starter in this league. You can win sometimes throwing no interceptions and 200 yards. You can’t win turning it over as much as you score.

A few more days of practice isn’t going to change who he is. He’s a backup. Carr doesn’t even factor. If Carr isn’t the guy, then draft a QB.

Sooo let me get this straight…150mill Carr plays mostly the entire game with a sub level performance and ALLLLL you were able to comprehend and concentrate on was a a few ints by a backup Qb who came in and litt a fire under the offense to bring us to almost win the game but you decide to ignore that terrible performance by Carr and highlight the two ints Winston made? Smh This is absolutely Brilliant of you my friend!

I couldn't agree more with above.....he comes in cold, Saints are 24 points down and leads the offense to 16 points in less than a quarter and a half.....and he's the problem.....right......

I don't think it's unreasonable to conclude he may play better under better circumstances, like starting and playing an entire game, if he throws multiple picks then, well ok.....but this criticism of him is exactly why folks are referred to as "haters", it's irrational criticism.....IMO....also, Infoman is still in disbelief that TH7 isn't the starting QB :)
I watched the first half when our defense was making dobbs look like pat mahomes. What were you watching?

So, is there a new rule where the Saints offense doesn't get the ball after the Vikes score? Because they had possessions also if I'm not mistaken....

People still hanging on to the idea that we'll better if JW starts are delusional. He did exactly what he always has done in his career. He makes a couple of splash plays then starts throwing it up for whoever, and half the time it's the opposing D that catches it. If your going to do that you might as well just let Hill do it. At least he can run which seems to be the trend for QBs in the league.

Without Payton in his ear every time there's chance Winston will just keep doing the same things he's done his whole career which why no one except Saints wants him.

Legitimate or not its getting old when the real issue is DA.
This. We should all be able to agree on this. He's the one who wanted Pete as his OC. Pete cannot design an offense that utilizes his players' strengths. Took them half the season last year to figure out how to use Kamara and Taysom. Derek and Jameis (and yes, even Taysom) have looked their best when going off-schedule and away from Pete's given hot reads.

He came in down 24 points, have to take chances, that often leads to either scores or turnovers.....16 points in less than a quarter and half does not equal "splash plays" or whatever nonsense you are spewing.....

He really hasn't gotten a chance under DA to show much of anything but, at this point, I believe he is a better option than Carr.....but DA will probably start Carr just like Haslett did with Brooks, no matter what.....

He'll be gone after this year, and I don't know why we need a Winston thread. Yesterday wasn't about Jameis; it was about the starter (Carr) and our horrific HC. Jameis put points on the board but could not seal the deal. We don't have a guy, that's reality of the situation, so bringing up Jameis is just a distraction; he's not the guy we're stuck with for 2 more years.

Hahahahha!!!!! "Could not seal the deal"?

He came in with less than a quarter and a half left 24 points down and got us to within one score of tying.....you have to be joking.....

Like I said, if he plays a full game and stinks it up (multiple picks leading to a loss) then he deserves this type of criticism but in this instance? Just folks looking foolish.....

I've seen that happen 2 of the 10 weeks of play and it has happened when the starter got hurt in the 3rd quarter of both games.
There has certainly been criticism directed at Carr whenever he's played poorly.. plenty from yesterday's game in regards to Carr.

Infoman and maybe a few others get off on being able to say "see, told you" when Winston struggles but there is also a lot of "we paid $150 million for this and y'all think he's a good quarterback?" type commentary as well when it's Carr.

Because it's true

It's definitely Carr's job and I'm not a Winston apologists but he brought a spark to the offense even though you hope for the best everytime he winds up to throw but he pushes the ball down the field and I think that quality in his game people appreciate.

Like I said. It's delusional. Not that Carr is much better. If at all.
