A microcosm of Winston’s career (2 Viewers)

Hahahahha!!!!! "Could not seal the deal"?

He came in with less than a quarter and a half left 24 points down and got us to within one score of tying.....you have to be joking.....

Like I said, if he plays a full game and stinks it up (multiple picks leading to a loss) then he deserves this type of criticism but in this instance? Just folks looking foolish.....
You’d have a better point if there wasn’t an almost decade of evidence that the end result is the same result Winston has produced his entire career. He tosses up risky 50/50 balls with alarming frequency. Sometimes you’ll get a string of heads and people start to believe Winston has figured it out, then the tails inevitably start hitting.

Winston is a slot machine, and in the long term the house always wins.

Not saying it isn't, he is not living up to the money or expectations. I was just pointing out that the criticism does happen and that outside of the money aspect it's pretty much a mirror image of the way it happens when it's Jameis who struggles.
No it isnt...there's no mirror like image to what JW goes through vs what Carr does....not even remotely close....this threads existence in its own is evidence to the contrary. and hell, within this very thread folks are complaining about how the touchdowns looked while completely ignoring that Carr didn't even throw a TD or put us in position to score a TD through 2 and a half quarters of football.

Look, the past 2 years all we heard was "so and so aint it"..."he's not a starter", "he needs to take a prove it deal", "we'll be better once we get "Franchize QB"" and so on. Some of us tried to tell yall, the problem isn't the QB...we got told to "ST(F)U Jameis worshippers he's the problem". So the Saints went out, spent $150M on a "Franchize QB" and whatya know....we still have the same problems. But now we even had the opportunity to see within a single game the teams ineffectiveness with the $150M QB and some semblance of life w/ the guy yall told us wasn't :poop: .

I mean GD, look no further than Olave's demeanor as to who he thinks the problem is. Its all good though, Carrs the guy, if he's healthy he'll play, some of us just kinda wish that same standard applied last year.

We have an offense that throws it behind the LOS on 3rd and long and takes shots on 3rd and 3 with the game on the line.

Make it make sense.
That 3rd and 3 was a punt. The play was toast from snap with the free blitzer.

Be more upset about the YOLO ball on 1st and 10 from the 48

We'll have to agree to disagree I guess (I actually don't think Carr or Winston are sheet, it's just that neither one is consistent or "good.") I honestly don't see much of a difference in it in general.. like I've said a couple of times, infoman and maybe a few others get off on Winston struggling but I see the same thing in regards to Carr and in my opinion there hasn't been enough of a difference in terms of performance between the two for any of it to really matter to anyone beyond the additional money we spent on Carr.

*I think it's fair to say Jameis got a raw deal last year and I actually thought yesterday that he looked better in general than he did even in most of that season with Payton

He came in down 24 points, have to take chances, that often leads to either scores or turnovers.....16 points in less than a quarter and half does not equal "splash plays" or whatever nonsense you are spewing.....

He really hasn't gotten a chance under DA to show much of anything but, at this point, I believe he is a better option than Carr.....but DA will probably start Carr just like Haslett did with Brooks, no matter what.....
We got three drives after the first two TDs with 9 minutes left. He didn't "have to take chances" at that point.

That's just who he is. It's not going to change.

Right, there was no reason to throw deep into triple coverage with just under 2 minutes left and 1st and 10 on the 48. And he clearly had 2 easier open targets underneath. Take what the defense gives and live to play another down.

People keep saying this. Nick talked about it last night. He's as down on Carr as anyone (he likes Winston more), but he said there is no locker room issue there. Olave is not getting up for Winston and not for Carr. He said all the offensive players are behind Carr and like Carr.

Everything else is just fan-created, message board fodder.

Right and folks are conveniently not crediting Jameis for the 2 TD's in less than a quarter and a half when the offense to that point in the game almost 3 quarters in scored......3 freaking points......and I'm delusional? Good grief.....

Like I said, let him play an entire game against the Falcons if Carr can't go....if he throws multiple picks and we lose then y'all have a point but to just say "he is who he is" after the Vikes game is just insanely irrationally critical....

You act like that would be his first start. He's already started a bunch of games and the INTs just keep coming. That's his entire career. What do you expect to find out?

Carr is going to be healthy and he's going to play unless his concussion is really bad, and that's pretty rare.

In the gameday thread, I gave Winston mad props, but I also pointed out the obvious. The way he was playing was incredibly dangerous and would end the game with an INT. Sure enough, he threw two of them.

That second TD was an awful decision that worked out in a moment of desperation. You can't build an offense around that. Perhaps you can't build one around Carr either. Then start Haener and draft a QB.
