Ahsoka Live Action Series (Disney+) (2 Viewers)

Nice episode. A lot of fun, and only one George Lucas-worthy bad line of dialogue:
"We'll prepare for the worst and hope for the best." I mean, Star Wars has never been known for great dialogue, but a stereo-typed trope that bad was uncalled for.

Am I the only getting the impression that Baylon's mission is going to turn out to be far more significant and dangerous than Thrawn? I have this sense of an "under the radar" plot that suddenly will be changing the entire playing field. Maybe I'm overthinking it, but whatever he's up to is serious and has little to nothing to do with bringing Thrawn back to the SW galaxy. In fact, I have a feeling he considered Thrawn's return merely as an unfortunate but necessary side effect of getting where he needed to be to accomplish his yet unknown task. That would explain some of the things he said to Ahsoka and to Lady Morgan in earlier episodes. I don't know if Baylon survives through the last episode, the only problem is that Ray is no longer with us to continue Baylon's plot.

Awesome to see C3PO again. Wondering if there will be some kind of CGI'd appearance of Leia through a holograph communication, and if they'll use 3PO any further.

Almost a throw away line, but the whereabouts of Zeb were mentioned. Hoping this leads to an appearance and inclusion of Zeb eventually in whatever is planned to follow this series. I believe next week is the final episode. It has every feeling of ending with all kinds of loose ends, perhaps even the main plot, to propel us into the next chapter of the story, whatever that may be. If they really wrap up all of this in one episode next week, they wouldn't be able to help it not feeling rushed and disappointing IMHO.

Anticipating much mayhem, intrigue, and FX next week...

I flipped when Ezra disrupted that Lightsaber blade hoooooolyyyyyy crap

Got a Mando reference

Anakin training video 🥹

Senator Xiono is totally an Imperial

And yea, Baylan is the one to watch. Last episode (I think) Shin made some comment along the lines of “If this place is so great, why are they trying to leave” and his response was something along the lines of “or they’re escaping a power greater than theirs“. He’s gotta be chasing something down from the stories they previously mentioned.

TCW watchers will remember the ghost of qui gon sends yoda on an epic quest- he meets many witchy types but is sent to the wellspring of life - seemingly the birthplace of the Force (but maybe the birthplace of the light side)
It could be that Baylan is looking for- and intends to destroy- the dark side ‘wellspring’

The rumors involve that. They say it's going to be Abeloth, the mortal adoptive mother to the daughter and son and wife to father. She's pretty much more powerful than the 3 of them combined, but was trapped over there.

Yeah I’ve seen that too
But that seems a bridge too far (too big a lore dump for a finale)
Obviously Ray/Baylan’s irl death complicates everything- does/did his character arc out? Will he have naturally handed his quest over to Shin?
Or will they need big rewrites?
(I think it’s the Shin handoff )

One thing that was speculated seems to not have been true, and that's that they didn't have the force over there. They very clearly do have it, though we don't know if it's to the same degree as "our" galaxy. I saw one person complain about Ezra not using his lightsaber and that he's an imposter because of it despite seeing him using the force and being in tune with it. I'd like to think that those little guys would've noticed if Ezra wasn't himself or that if he never was Ezra, they wouldn't have befriended him. I kind of hope it's Abeloth based off of the videos I watched speculating about it.
That's all I have to say about that, so I'm gonna skedaddle.

If Baylon lives through the end of the series, my guess would they would recast the part. It's certainly not unheard of, and if you can a good actor who looks at least looks somewhat like him, that will work - as long as said actor is talented. Everyone will be willing to suspend their disbelief if said recast actor is really good.

A few haphazard thoughts after initial viewing:

Didn't love the Purgills as cannon fodder, where'd they peace out to?
Thrawn is an absolute marvel in calculations/tactics and it was a very meaningful display(s)
Ezra and his reluctance to use the jedi lightsaber was interesting, still feel unclear on the range of his powers/abilities...and that is fine, also think the actor is crushing it as an aged Ezra
Great duels and fight scene action
These witches (the great mothers) seem genuinely shook by events unfolding, they want out and now
Ahsoka's arrival on the battlefield was pretty killer!
Baylan remains the possibly best part of this show and the mystery of his motives is palpable
I don't want his arc hastened but I think recasting would be unwise/uncouth
Shin also becomes a very interesting piece in this now, she should be the bridge here for his story
Great to hear the Zeb ref
I don't think anyone should expect any real big loose threads tied up in the finale, it is all setting up bigger stuff...if anything some of 'our guys' are likely getting left behind, but either way it's setting up as a win for the Thrawn forces, and that is also fine.
Filoni is really incredible.

If not Abeloth, I'm still holding out hope that the reason Thrawn really wants out of that galaxy is because of the Yuuzhan Vong. My memory is a little spotty because it's been years since I read the books but, doesn't Abeloth have something to do with the Yuuzhan Vong? Maybe Ezra is filling the part of Jacen Solo from the books and has been tutored by Vergere?
I know probably none of this will happen but I can dream. I really wish they had used the Expanded Universe as a storyline in these shows because there was so much material there. Now, because of the sequel trilogy, there are no twins, no Sword of the Jedi, no Mara Jade, no Ben Skywalker (Luke and Mara's kid). The stories they are using seem to have a short arc. They can't go very far without rubbing up against what they have stated as canon.
