Allen better not mess around with naming Rattler QB#2 (1 Viewer)

Why is it just before the regular season starts, Dennis Allen does SOMETHING to tick off the fanbase when we're trying, TRYING EVER SO HARD to tolerate him and give him as much rope as physically possible? What is wrong with this man's brain?

It's not him so much as the owner and GM of the team. If they knew what they were doing we wouldnt have a career 33% win percentage coach.

I don’t see any reason to rush Rattler. I think it’s smart to not move him into a situation quicker than need be. Curious if OP has played QB and knows the mental and confidence aspect of the position.
I just know in college, often times backups listed are only that on paper. You can have someone listed as next man up and completely by-pass them and even move someone from another position to be the actual back up.

In Jordan Love's rookie year the Packers went with Brett Hundley as their backup QB while Love was a gameday inactive for the entire season. That seems to have worked out pretty well for them (and him).

Every situation is different but I'm comfortable with whatever the offensive coaches think is best for his long term development.

If a backup QB has to be announced, I think it will be Haener as he is more "seasoned" than Rattler as to give Rattler more time to get accustomed to being a professional week in and week out.

Funny, I just see fans desperate to find something to bash the HC and FO about at every opportunity..

Perspective is a funny old thing.

Exactly. And if it came to a situation where Carr was injured, if you jump straight to Rattler, you want him to know in his mind that it’s 100% the best decision. Otherwise he is looking over his shoulder and not playing like he is capable. You want to be able to tell him, it’s your team now kid, we believe in you and go do what you do.

I got in an argument with another poster on why the offense was stalling. I mentioned brees arm and a few other things and got piled on because apparently if you say anything at all critiquing the Saints then your not a Saints fan. I got accused of being a troll fan from another team in the nfc, and I may have said something to that person that led to the ban but it all started because I disagreed with Homer glasses opinions 99% of the people here have.
