He needs to be the number two QB, since it benefits him more during practice every week.

Is that you Steve Austin?Yes, that coach. The same one who made A, B, C to Z decisions that didn't turn out well, or that you disagree with. The same coach who I myself have stated on here that I think should be replaced.
That guy STILL knows more about head coaching in the NFL and more about the actual team than ANYONE on this board, sitting on your little couch, watching a few preseason games, listening to your little reports, and reading your little stories. As a fan, I can easily and readily admit that. It's pretty obvious.
Decent case you've constructed there. If that was the situation, I'd have to say "Go and re-watch Twelve Angry Men"What if the 20% of evidence consisted of having the murder weapon as evidence with fingerprints and dna of the accussed on it, along with 10 collaborating eye witnesses and multi videos of the crime in its entireity that all confirm that the person charged is guilty?
Are we talking considerable decibels? I understand football teams tend to be experts in tuning out unfavorable noise. Not a rocket scientist by any stretch...but im thinking he's going to make noise.
I think you can make a fair argument that neither is more than a developmental QB at this point, suggesting you cut one and sign a vet back up.I'd question whether Haener is even worthy of a roster spot at this point.
AND WAS STILL OUT-PLAYED.Haener has more time in the system.
if he is swayed in the slightest bit to cave in to fans, then he's already lost. He'll weight his decision up against the negative youtubers and a few hundred boo freaks and will make the best decision for the team. You think threatening Sean Payton would've worked? Just saying.Allen better not mess around with naming Rattler QB#2. He clearly outplayed Haener in 2 pre season games. In the post game press conference you could hear Allen already posturing for Jake to be #2. He said Haener took a big step forward the last week of practice and was not sure of the reasons it did not show up in the game. To me that is him creating reasons to hold Rattler down.
He better not do that because the majority of fans are very excited about Rattler and will be angry with Allen if he is made QB3. Also Rattler himself will feel shunned because he earned it. If you are a smart coach, I am making friends with this kid, because he is a future star and you donāt want him trying to find a way out of New Orleans later because he was not allowed to play.
DONāT SCREW THIS UP ALLEN!!!
the only reason DA defended Carr is because Carr was getting a ton of unnecessary negatively from the same people that are creating more negativity for him defending Carr. DA is in a no win situation. SP and Drew are gone. Move on.The only reason he wouldnāt do is may want to spare his gold gooseās āCarrā feelings. If Rattler is the backup Carr may get in his feelings when everyone starts calling for Rattler.
if i were DA id name Rattler as the #2. Because he deserved it (by a small margin) Id want him as 2 to actually push Carr. (Carr plays better when he feels pressure) He was never under real pressure at the Raiders. When Gruden showed up Carr had to step up. (Toxic booing isnt a method to push Carr, toxic booing hurts the entire team and fan base)Or he doesn't want to put too much pressure on a rookie QB and wants to give him time to develop without all the expectations building around him. In the end, it doesn't really matter who the #2 QB is. Carr is going to start as long as he is healthy and if he's hurt for any length of time, the season is pretty much so over. I think Rattler is going to be very good, but he still needs time to develop.
That being said, I could see a situation where Haener is brought in after a Carr injury if you have the lead and Rattler might get the nod if they have a week to prepare or you are behind.
Savvy reply I must say. Good One!Decent case you've constructed there. If that was the situation, I'd have to say "Go and re-watch Twelve Angry Men"
How when they just installed itHaener has more time in the system.
Didnāt JW play like 3-4 games this last season. I am pretty sure if Rattler was in the GB game we would have won! Not so sure with Haener.I will never understand why this is such a big deal to fans. It's crazy! We have spent more time this off season discussing what Allen better do with the number 2 QB spot than anything else.
We are keeping both, it does not matter who gets the number 2 nod. If and when this bad OL gets Carr hurt, then we can worry about it. Rattler could be the number 3 and Carr get hurt in week 8, Rattler in those 8 weeks could make up the difference and then be the number 2. Rattler could be the number 2 and regress and be the 3.
I have given Allen hell over the last year, but this just seems like a lot of people looking for a reason to pile on. Spencer looks more like a NFL QB than Jake has yet in his career and Spencer certainly is more athletic with the ball in his hands which is valuable with a terrible OL like we have. So, I think he should be the number 2, but it isn't the end of the world regardless and unless Carr gets hurt or is just awful you would not see Spencer as a starter here until the season after next.
