Allen better not mess around with naming Rattler QB#2 (1 Viewer)

Didn’t JW play like 3-4 games this last season. I am pretty sure if Rattler was in the GB game we would have won! Not so sure with Haener.
JW played enough snaps to lead us in passing in one game. That was against Minn.

And no, neither backup likely win that game with the atrocious play calling once Carr went out. However, yes this year I think all three and Winston likely close that game out in the same scenario with a competent play caller.

Don’t get me wrong, Winston certainly didn’t play well in that GB game, but it was way more on the play calling.

That is a great point.
I disagree with that being a "good point"~! I'm "hoping" Carr is so dialed in and the scheme so imaginative and creative ; our Offense will dominate through a great balance of RUN/Pass and able to use all of our Offense to leave defenses confused and vulnerable ~! That's just me wishing and I don't really care about #2 until we get through these next 2 weeks~! I'm confident the best decision will be made and NONE OF US really KNOW what that even means right now............!

I'm happy we have a capable vet to compliment a top tier defense and 2 reasonably qualified development QB's behind him.

Some don't remember having multiple Billy Joe's on the team and it shows.

Arguing between Hobert and Tolliver was like arguing about whether you'd rather have chlamydia or gonorrhea.

If I'm Klint Kubiak, I really took notice of how decisive and quicker-paced Rattler was than Haener. I really had some Purdy vibes with Spencer. Just go up and run the play. Don't think about it so much, just execute it. Be efficient.

In 2000, Delhomme and Tolliver had more time in the system and we traded for Aaron Brooks just 2 weeks before the season opener and he was named the backup to Jeff Blake. Seemed to work out well that year. Sometimes talent overcomes.
2000 was a new system as well, having fired Danny Abramowicz and replacing him with Mike McCarthy. McCarthy coached QBs in Green Bay in 1999 and was already familiar with Aaron Brooks.

Choosing Haener as #2, IMO, says to me that DA either doesn't see Rattler as the future, or he does but is choosing not to prioritize his development by limiting his week to week reps as a QB#3. Nothing against Haener, but every rep he takes as a #2 is one less rep for Rattler's development, and it only makes sense if DA hasn't seen enough to believe in Rattler. Not believing in Rattler seems silly considering the obvious gap in ability/talent, and how quickly Rattler closed the gap between he and Haener since OTAs, comprehending the offense and running it.

QB#2 gets way more weekly reps. It’s a know fact. There is a huge advantage for being QB#2.
That's not always true. In many cases, if there is not much separation between QB2 and QB3 they will split 2nd team reps
