Alvin Kamara pleads no contest to lesser misdemeanor charge, jury trial is cancelled; civil suit also settled on confidential terms (1 Viewer)

It doesn't matter. The NFL doesn't have to go with what it was plead down to. There's video. He's going to get at least the minimum, the baseline for a violation of the conduct policy. That will get appealed and then we'll know what the final number is probably 4-6.
On to the next hill to die on eh?

Now that this saga is over, I have to say it. Alvin let me down. (I won't speak for anyone else.)

The only NFL jersey I've ever owned is #41. I've watched Alvin play since he was a rookie and his game has energized me. Who can forget his 6 TD masterpiece?!

But, by letting his temper get the best of him, he let me down. Yes, he's human, and we are all flawed. I get that. But our tempers are our worst enemies, and I hope Alvin learns from this. For the team, I hope his NFL penalty isn't overly harsh.

Oh, I'll keep wearing my #41 whenever he plays. But, I sincerely hope he takes this opportunity to self improve and not let anyone set him off again. I know in my heart he's better than that, and I wish him the best.

Love your game, Alvin, but please do better.

Man.. I've let people down all my life and still do on a daily basis most of the time. I'm glad those people understand that I'm just a normal guy trying to navigate this insane world.

Oh it definitely matters.. in regards to appeals and if the courts get involved. I think he deserves a 2-4 game suspension, but I fully expect the NFL to ramrod Kamara and the Saints.

Still expect anywhere from 3-8 game suspension. Based off Underhill's tweet. This paves the way for future suspensions and we know how they do New Orleans. We are always treated the worst when it comes to discipline.
I would like to think that with Payton gone, that might change to something more normal. I don't expect any favors though.

1. Alvin's actions were stupid!

2. He lawyered-up with the correct counsel.

3. The other side had to agree with the plea bargaining... but I'm shocked that the settlement wasn't seven figures.

4. On another note, for the sake of the Saints, glad that Alvin appears to have come into camp in tip-top shape. He appears to be ready.

5. Several games suspension is a given; the only question now is HOW MANY.

Kudos to the OP for posting a straightforward and succinct thread title. :9:

:gosaints:
I'm guessing the $100k Is merely restitution the criminal court ordered him to pay. We will likely not find out what the civil settlement amount was because there are stipulations put in the settlement stating no party can disclose the terms of the settlement.

The rumor I've heard from someone who probably has good info is that the casino agreed to drop trespassing charges against the "victim" in exchange for part of this consideration. Evidently the guy has previously been banned and has also had previous encounters with other athletes/celebrities.
If anyone would have seen his social media accounts, they would know that he was trying to get the 💼. People like him are called opportunists, but hey, he took the whooping, and got what he wanted. I’ll give him a couple of months before he starts flashing his cash money on IG.

I bet 0 games suspended

Been telling them since day 1

LMAO and some fans on here was acting like Kamara was going to face YEARS in jail
He should have gone to prison, but the city DAs are all soft on crime types nowadays. It was despicable what Kamara and his friends did to the guy regardless of what the guy may have said to him in the club. Punk move to gang up on one guy.

I'm sure that there will be additional money going to him via lawsuit.
$100k is part of the criminal punishment to pay for the guy’s medical bills. The civil settlement was entirely separate and in addition to that. I would guess the civil settlement was multiple millions of dollars.
