Andy Dalton is PFF’s 2nd highest graded passer this season (1 Viewer)

everytime I remember Dalton is the QB of the Saints, I have this horrible "meh" feeling that takes over me
He is 19th in 3rd down conversions when passing and 30th on big pass plays per game compared to the other 31 NFL teams. He doesn’t crack the top 20 on 4th quarter passer rating.

So he’s great, unless it’s 3rd down in the 4th quarter and you need a big play.

That's why a lot of people make fun of it.

ESPN won't tell how they do it. If I recall correctly, they even adjusted it over the year.
That figures, they can keep adjusting it to “predict” whatever it is they want if that’s the case. It will be the greatest predictor of past wins, until it isn’t, and then it will become the best again after another formula tweak.

Sounds about right... you don´t lose because of him but you don´t win either. This team would have been much more interesing if they had found a way to play like they did against Seattle in week 5, but that promise never materialized.

Or if they played aggressively like they did in that 4th quarter against Atlanta

But Brady is NOT the GOAT QB in my book, Brees is, because 7 rings is a team stat, and DB9 has all the QB stats.
He's not the GOAT to me either. That's just what majority think. Joe Montana is the GOAT to me. I have Drew 2nd and Brady 3rd.

I wonder what the point of finding out who the best QBs between the 20s are? Like is there a reason to take out red zone stats? It's one of the most important parts of the game. I'm not an Andy hater, he's played well at times and he's played bad at times. I'm just confused as to what the point of excluding red zone is.
They told you the point, in order to say that Dalton is better than Burrow. For whatever reason, they're trying to say Burrow isn't that good which is laughable.

No one in their right mind. That’s not really the point.

People on here hammer the guy. Point is that he’s actually been decent. Top 2? Of course not. But anyone who thinks he’s been “bad” either isn’t watching or is simply looking for the easiest person to blame.
Winning games is part of the QB evaluation.

The truth is always somewhere closer to the middle. Which is exactly where I'd rank Dalton. He's a perfect backup. Put an elite team around him and we'd be a playoff team. As it happens, this team has several key flaws, including in the coaching.

That's true of any player though.

I am not going to bring up rushing (even though it is an integral part of Hurts' game), because the tweet in the OP says passer rating, and skip W-L records as well. But just passing:

Code:
Burrow 68.2% 3,885 yds 7.6 avg 31 TDs 10 INTs
Hurts 67.3% 3,472 yds 8.2 avg 22 TDs 5 INTs
Dalton 66.8% 2,403 yds 7.6 avg 17 TDs 7 INTs

In what world is Andy Dalton rated higher than Hurts and Burrow?
PFF world, I guess.

Less so for other positions.
