Are we ready to talk about The Honey Badger? (2 Viewers)

He is awful. He doesn’t tackle better than me. He’s lost a step or two.

No, the plan was Maye, TM, and Ceedy. They were to all have their role. Heck, pay Ceedy the money that they will most likely go to Davenport (I wouldn’t pay him).

I don’t know if they’re going to pay Davenport now either but I do think that was the thinking going into the season was we have to pay Davenport when he breaks out this season so we can’t pay CGJ. Davenport just isn’t finishing plays (but he has actually played this year so that’s a plus). In partial hindsight it looks stupid at the moment I agree.

I expected some effort at least. If you are done with football and want to squeeze one last contract out before you’re run out of the league that’s fine. Well , it’s not fine but it is what it is. What I don’t understand is why you would do it to your hometown team. There are 31 other teams you could steal a paycheck from

I agree, I don't see any effort from Mathieu, especially when we need him to save a TD score. I've seen him give up on multiple touchdowns. He just refuses to lower his head and smack someone.

Are a lot of you forgetting the salary cap hell we've been in the last few years? Look at the other players we lost. Heck, we just played against 2 of them today with Bell and Hendrickson.

Look we couldn’t sign Willams. He is an up and coming player and we took an older cheeper option. The badger 2 years ago …was… an upgrade, today he isn’t but it was the best we could do with the $ we had.

Face it we lost Malcom due to retirement, lost Williams due to cap constraints. The badger was our best last option. There is a reason KC said “we will let him walk”.

We do the best we can with the hand we are dealt.

Many teams can’t say that. We spend and spend more.

We didn’t loose today because of him. We lost when Lat, one of the best (to me personally the best) was marked out on injury. He is a headache for any opposing team. We held our own. Malcom or Marcus wouldn’t have fixed today.

The fake a.. Baton Rouge fans are in their glory today. Don’t take their win from them today on another one if their own’s back….
I will quote myself to say the crap LSU fans pulled today should NEVER go unanswered! Tell us how you really feel. I saw and heard so much today I don’t even consider us citizens of the same state. I renounce my diploma I really do. First and last off I am a citizen of NOLA all its flaws warts and all. Your no better than us we are all part of the same flawed state… but the idea that you believe your better than us because of a stupid game a GAME shows me how you really feel.

Overreaction, very likely, based on a few bad apples, that aside know this, we are the engine that drives this region. We should work in concert but we obviously don’t. Yep we got our issues here. Like any MAJOR American city does. Won’t go into all of it and shouldn’t have to.

Shocked and appalled at your attitude towards NOLA!!

He got half a sack today and was leading the team in pressures going into today.

You have to pay him (Davenport) if for nothing he is a disruptive force. Payton turner is yours as well. Cam is amazing but he can’t go on forever maybe he can and cool. We need pass rushers and he fits that bill.

There is reason there was not a stampede to sign the guy by other teams.

I think he was seriously considering retirement, and the Saints gave him the opportunity to finish his career close to home, and on what was then considered a “top 10 defense in the league”…

Then, after he got “truck sticked” multiple times by Cordarelle Patterson in week 1… then again by LF7 week 2, he pretty much realized that it’s not worth it.

He’s a step slower, and now he is taking bad angles and “safe” tackling to protect himself. That’s a recipe for a very bad safety.

Square peg, round hole. I really though he would thrive here, but as the third safety. We really miss Marcus and CJ. The verdict is still out on Maye replacing Marcus, but so far it’s been not even close. If we’re going to suck all year, it’s at least cool to see a local product in a Saints uniform.

PJ and Taylor being out don't help, either. Lattimore is obviously the more important DB, but PJ is a decent nickelback and Taylor did well in his brief action vs. TB.

But even with the injuries, we were playing the most sacked QB in the league. Our DL needs to step up at home and CONSISTENTLY pressure Burrow. Yeah, we got 3 sacks, but there were long stretches of the game where he had plenty of time. I'm reminded of a Bill Belichick quote where he sad sacks were the most overrated stat to him - he'd rather pressure the QB all game but get zero sacks then get a couple of sacks but fail to achieve pressure on most of the other dropbacks.
