Best Female Rock Vocalist (4 Viewers)

Ingrid Michaelson is underrated.......I think she should of been huge, but maybe underrated is better sometimes. I don't know.

To all the people that hate Screamo...

I recently rewatched this video of a woman named Cheryl Lynn who was (basically) a one hit wonder with a song called Got to be Real…. I was thinking, not necessarily in terms of “rock music”, but just in terms of female pop singers- if you were to take just one song from the repertoire of any female singer from the past 50 years- you would have to put this chick Cheryl Lynn up with Ann Wilson, Whitney, ONJ, Karen Carpenter, Streisand and anyone else you can think of.. again, just pick one song from each singer…. Also along those lines would be Minnie Riperton with her (basically ) one hit song, she would be up with them all as well .

It’s on Soul Train which makes it even better

ok... so I gave a bunch of covers for the folks that won't like foreign music... but here is one of their originals.

I remember that song. Couldn't have told you her name, though. It's been on a lot of soundtracks over the years.

Cheryl Lynn is still alive and only 67 years old meaning she was only 21 when she did this.

I'm enjoying it at 1:43.

But, I gotta tell ya, I worry for this girl's future with vocal nodules.
That's a risk many in the genre take. Some injure themselves.

hell... just googling its common among regular singers.
