There's an old McKenzie's converted to a Chicken in a Box on Gentilly just off Elysian Fields that is just like that.
Their quality has slipped (plummeted) over the years. Their Chicken is dry AF nowadays

That’s unfortunate. It’s been probably at least 10 years since I’ve been there. It used to be a Mardi Gras morning staple.Their quality has slipped (plummeted) over the years. Their Chicken is dry AF nowadays
the one in Walker was 24 hr (and only thing open past 10pm), it was less than a mile from my house. we used to go there late at night, and if there was any chicken left, they would let us have it really cheap because they would start the donuts at like 3am and would throw any left over chicken away. good times..
When I was little and my dad was still active military we were in North Carolina and they had a place called Beaujangles. I haven’t eaten at one or even seen one for that matter in like 35 years so they may not exist.
Anybody have any idea what I am talking about?
It doesn’t dance for you?Bojangles. They have them all over Atlanta. Not bad sides and biscuits but I prefer Popeyes chicken so I rarely go there.
Is Chicken in the Box still open in Gentilly? It's the same people. No, that Chubbie's has been Chubbie's for as long as I can remember. The Chicken in the Box place, iirc, was almost right across the street in a shopping center. The shopping center has an Ace Hardware and a Subway. Next to the Subway on General Meyer is a sno-ball stand. I think that's where it was, but not sure. Anyone else remember?
Not only does it not, they make awful jingles and commercials. It doesn’t dance for you?

Have you had the fried chicken from the popingo on hwy 44 by the interstate?Since we have deviated from the sandwich to actual chicken for a little bit.....The Winn Dixie on Airline in Prairieville has the best-fried chicken I've eaten in a while.
Winn frickin' Dixie.
Don't knock it til you've tried it.
They're opening locations in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and it will be packed with all of the transplants that have relocated to this area. Much like In-N-Out.Bojangles. They have them all over Atlanta. Not bad sides and biscuits but I prefer Popeyes chicken so I rarely go there.
That’s the one that @BayouSAINTJoe said has slipped in quality. I take it that they’re still open in Gentility. Is Chicken in the Box still open in Gentilly? It's the same people.

We have since moved away but great chicken and fixings, service with a smile. Also much cheaper than the chains.
