You're saying that the video shows that she maintained possession of her bag the entire time prior to the Russians finding the cartridges? If so, then okay I concede that point.

Her pleading guilty in a Russian Court means little to me as far as whether or not she was guilty.
She never once denied the weed was hers. She even claimed to have a doctors note for it.

I don't think the Russian government really gives a **** if she had a Dr's note... :smilielol:

Fair enough though I'd say her arguments in court don't preclude the possibility she was framed.. but they were probably hers and it was extraordinarily stupid of her to have brought them.

I feel bad for Whelan’s family after reading that article. It’s a shame he Is still locked up, hopefully these sanctions we placed on Russia will make them easier to negotiate with.

I learned on twitter today that his new name is now Maga Parsons. I laughed I think.
Haha, well he did say that he's not a Trump guy, but he doesn't agree with Biden. Frankly, I think a lot of people are in the same boat.

Not to bring politics into this convo, but today's move does have political implications as well as political motives for optics reasons.

I hate that that's what political discourse has become. You criticize one decision of a leader and you're painted with a broad brush stroke of everything bad that could possibly be associated with the opposite side. I don't know if we ever had any sense of nuance in this country, but we sure don't today.

I'm not sure how much political capital there is to derive from the timing of this move. It's too far out from the next election cycle in our fast-moving, polarized political climate. It might gain Biden some shortlived goodwill with some, but as we see, it's stirring backlash, as well.

Unfortunately it just is what it is to some large extent.. though for me personally I've pretty strongly criticized the current President when I've thought it's deserved yet I don't think anyone has mistaken me for a supporter of the previous President while doing so. But that may largely be related to people already knowing where I'm coming from.
