Closer look at Kellen Moore in the NFCCG today (58 Viewers)

I mean, yeah...but his system clearly works. It always has, with proper talent.
We draft the guys and he could take us there. He's coming to NOLA for the super bowl...hopefully he gets a good impression.

I would hope he will come here for the SB already having taken the job as our HC. We are the last team left so we don't have to act quickly, but if we wait two more weeks to make a hire, it's going to be more difficult to put together a good staff.

It really does make sense to view next season as a transition year. Hire a coach that can manage the turnover and help maintain a good culture despite being severely talent starved and try to secure a top pick in the draft.

If they think Kellen Moore is someone special. The path for him to succeed is going to be so difficult and doing that while trying to win 7 or 6 games isn't going to help him long term.

The problem with next year... How many wins can you afford to get the #1 or #2 pick. Are we going to be bad enough to only win 2 games? It could be possible if the roster purge happens and we move on from Carr.

Just have extreme doubts that FO will be okay with going against their tendency with being BAD BAD as means to get through this cap situation faster and go after a new franchise QB.

The Saints organization is the longest standing franchise to go without drafting a 1st round QB since 1971.

The next closet team... Dallas Cowboys with Troy Aikman in 1989.

I would be very happy with trying a different strategy to return us back to a winning team that doesn't take us on a 4 year grind of 6 or 7 win season.

No way, you always swing for the fences on a coach, settle on a coach is defeat already. It would be a worse look for the team to hire internally again and waste another 3 yrs and put the franchise even closer to jets, raiders level of incompetence. Rizzi would be the worst hire of all candidates so far. The idea of admitting defeat at this point is ridiculous. You don’t tank for the 1st pick, you build until you can take a shot at a franchise QB.

That's probably a perspective we need to look at as a fanbase. Do we want someone who with some patience can be very good and grow with a rebuild. Or do we want a coach like McCarthy who will want to compete now.

No way I'm taking Moore. I know some Cowboys fans and they were mad McCarthy left. Said they wouldnt touch Moore.

How are we supposed to build being $50 million over cap this year and once we get under cap. Be over 2026 cap too.

This is an entirely unique position that any NFL team has been in... And frankly... You don't have 5 years to rebuild the team and then go for a franchise QB.

That's sort of the risk right? That our target looks at our situation as too screwed to jump into.. especially if it's a guys first shot at a HC job who probably expects to have future opportunities.

Hopefully that's not the case with Moore if he's the guy.. and then hopefully McCarthy would be OK with it if Moore isn't

So, keep doing what hasn't been working for 4 years and keep doing it. Sounds pretty on brand for the Saints.

But that's predicated on if Moore what's to be our head coach. So, let's see if that's a reality 1st.

Even then, the salary purge has to happen. Dragging it out any further without hitting on talent to through the draft has got us in such a bad spot.
