Closer look at Kellen Moore in the NFCCG today (58 Viewers)

I like Rizzi because the players like Rizzi. Not some of them, but most, if not all of the players like him. They are bought in. You cannot discount the importance of such. I don't care if he is a special teams coach, any veteran coach in the NFL fully understands the X's and O's across the board, Plus, I think he's likely better at player evaluation, as a little birdy told me that Rizzo and Galiano are the two that spotted and brought in Shaheed, for example.

I do not particularly like the current list of candidates that the Saints have shown us. None of the candidates make me say... "Yeah! Let's get that guy!" If I had to pick one, it would probably be McCarthy, and I wouldn't be excited about that pick either.

I would probably go with Rizzi, as this is likely going to be a transition season with significant player turnover anyway, at least you maintain a cohesive locker room and possibly keep valued assistant coaches, as for example, I want to see more of coaches like Kubiak, Galiano, et al. if it doesn't work out you can always let Rizzi go and hire someone else after next season when the Saints will be in a more attractive position cap wise, and there may be better options in the coaching market.

REBELMAX... as always, appreciate the insight!
Ok! Belay the bolded part to exclude Kellen Moore. He's grown on me over the past few hours. :hihi:

Because he thinks it's a better job than you do?

Maybe he won't take it. But if he's going to interview in person, a day or so after his team got to the Super Bowl, he must think we have at least something worth listening to.
Time will tell.

Until they reorder the FO and put somebody at the helm who isn't close to 70 and thinks we drafted well the last six years, it won't matter.

They'll screw it up.

Yes, I'm black-pilled.

Moore gets another boost. The Eagles offensive line. If he can bring that mindset to the Saints, that would be awesome. Becton who I posted about last year as an option for us, is mauling guys. I love their O-line. I can see Fuaga and Penning being building blocks for an O-line like that.
Moore has nothing to do with Philly's OL. That's all Stoutland. He's the best OL coach in the league and has been for a few yrs. He's not going anywhere
Sorry to say but I'll bet Kubiak takes a Benton and Dennison with him to Sea.

Yep and it was for the same reasons. MM thought that Moore was throwing the ball too much and it was wearing out the defense. Clearly Moore has corrected that in Philly.
Moore would be an idiot not to ride Barkley with that OL. Hurts is not even as good a passer as Dak. . I still think it's MM's job

With Moore emerging as the perceived front runner, it makes me wonder if MM was ever really an option now that there are rumblings that he plans to sit this cycle out and take a year off. The discussion with MM, could have been part of the information gathering/vetting process for Moore.
Where is this idea that Moore is the front runner ? Just because they might go to Philly to interview him?
I think it's still MM's job unless Moore just wows them .
These rumblings you talking about go against what REBELMAX has said that MM has been pushing for the job through all the back channels

I still prefer McCarthy. He's been a very successful HC and without Jones meddling with the roster I think he can make us contenders. Also he'll be able to put together a better coaching staff.

I do like Moore but who knows if he's HC material, plus we know nothing about his talent evaluation skills. But if it's Moore I won't be too upset. I do wish that Kingsbury would interview. I would take him over Moore

Same here. And I usually cringe at those who are influenced by a single recent game.

Haha yep…I have been pro McCarthy all this time with Moore being my #2, but after watching that game, suddenly in my head Moore is already our coach. 😂

Moore may not be the one coaching the OL, but his offense and the success of his offense is a direct result of that OL. He might not be able to bring the OL coach, but he's damn sure gonna try to build something similar here.

Loomis has to know Rizzi isn’t an option after the DA disaster. I saw an analysis from 2021 (forgot where) that showed how internal promotions have a high failure rate, with the creator saying he thought Freddie Kitchens would be the last of those mistakes in the NFL.

Hiring Rizzi would be trying that historically failing strategy a second time in a row.
Rizzi is the perfect lame duck coach. He’d be a great motivator and keep the locker room intact until we are avtually in a position to recruit a good HC option and win. Kellen Moore would be absolutely toast

I think I've been pushed toward Moore, but I still think Mike is a safer choice. I have the same question with Moore that I did with Brady. The Eagles might have one of the best offensive rosters in football. This will be Hurts' second Super Bowl. The O-line has long been dominant, Barley is Barkley, and both of their receivers are top-notch.
