Colin Cowherd on DA "I think he's done" (1 Viewer)

We can pile on Carr all we want but fact of the matter is he is putting up the same numbers as Dalton did last year with better players, so this is what playing in the system looks like and we have a more talented passer and more talented offensive weapons.
This is what I've been trying to get across. There isn't a mid tier QB that can overcome this system and mid tier is all Carr, Winston and Dalton are. They are all very flawed QBs that coaching needs to hide their worst traits and highlight their best traits. If the coaches can't do that enough to put up even a top 15 offense with those weapons, we have far bigger problems than a QB. As AK said, there is no identity and that didn't start this season.

I would also add that when a bad coach has been fired on other teams in the past (especially one like Allen who may have lost the locker room) that the team rally’s around the interim coach and could reach the record their talent indicates it could be. Couldn’t be any worse outcome.

You do if you're supposed to be at a minimum 3 games better given the easiest schedule in NFL history.

We should be 8-3 at a minimum with this soft schedule. We were offered up a schedule so easy that its almost the NFL equivalent of batting in tee ball yet were still at the plate with a full count...how?

Maybe Carr isn't the best QB in the division?
DA/Loomis deserve to ride with Carr for the rest of the season. I have -0- faith in them turning it around this year........or next.

The fans know it, the players know it. And the season ticket holders, sure as heck know it. People really don't have theat kind of money anymore to buy Saints tickets. New Orleans is very expensive to live in now. Season tickets............tough sell!!

I am calling it now.............DA gets fired at the end of the season. He has crossed the Rubicon. There is no turning back, DA/Loomis have lost the team, and it is obvious to everyone. Earlier in the season, I really thought he could limp his way to a play off game w/ this weak schedule, but with Penning's bust and Carr's implosion as QB. Relief may come early. Fingers crossed.

I vote to clean house, ML need to be held responsible for these horrendous mistakes. Bring in a new gm and let him choose his coach.
You do realize that will not happen unless he wants to retire from the position? He was in Tom Benson's will. He will be part of the organization even after Mrs. Benson.

No, I have no idea what’s in Tom Bensons will. If he did that he must of been senile. Why permanently attach his team to one person.

Its something like Loomis and the president will be the overseers of the transition from Gayle to the Benson foundation when that day comes. But yeah, Mickey has no worries of getting canned.

Loomis is only GM till, that season is over. They wrote Loomis into the succession, to prevent the firing of coaches/GM mid season. After that season, he can fire the lot of them. No one spends 3,4 billion $$$ on a franchise and has to keep the coach and GM!!

I agree but if your fire coach you who do you replace him with ?

Promote from within ?

Can’t hire from another team

College coaches are still in championship week or bowls

And you don’t want to be a team to bail on a coach mid season, need to show some loyalty, makes job more appealing to coaching talent

No new coach can fix quick enough to fix season

Changing play callers all you can do

"What is...Things that should've happened 4 weeks ago to prevent us from being mathematically eliminated from the playoffs despite having quite possibly the easiest schedule in NFL history"

Knowing you have organizational problems that's affecting on field performance and doing absolutey nothing about it while your guys are putting their bodies/livelihood on the line week in/out while marching to orders put out by the very people responsible for the organizational problems is malfeasance
It has been quite a journey to get to this point. But, I think the fan base has caught up to us on the dysfunction in this franchise post Sean. The media sure has. I'm thinking it has caught up to Gayle and company also. DA doesn't share the loyalty Loomis does. After 2 seasons his job security is waning everyday. He really looks like he has lost the team.

Loomis was Tom's guy. I'm afraid DA will be fired, but not DA and Loomis. I think Gayle and company will trust Loomis into the succession. Why, have the bad will? In Gayle's way of thinking is hold out on Loomis, till the Saints are sold and securely seated in New Orleans. Let the new owner hire his own staff. Will that happen before or after Gayle passes away. If I were her, I would want it all to go down, while I was still sharp and can see it through. What is your thinking on this?

I want local ownership, but we don't really have a lot of billionaire companies here. We could see a group ownership, like Denver has. Who do you see in that ownership group? I think 500 million$ is a good place to start as a buy in.

Everything that Gail Benson touches she destroys, her past explains everything and it was just a matter of time before she would do the same thing to the Saints.
I know we all want change, but why would you say something so hurtful about Gayle Benson? Her past? She has been a saving grace for this city. I don't think you know what you are talking about.

It blows my mind how many people are just so easily dismissive of Loomis and how easily they jump to "Oh, just get another GM". Look, I'm not aggressively defending Loomis -- maybe his time has come. But what I do feel fully confident about is that, post-XLIV, Loomis was doing what Payton wanted in the draft and in free agency. And his decision to ride on with DA, while obviously wrong in hindsight, wasn't unreasonable based on what was known at the time, and what this franchise's m.o. is.

If it was easy to get a Howie Roseman off the street, everyone would do it. Watch what you wish for, one day you might get it.
