This thread of videos is one of the most bizarre and disturbing threads I have watched regarding this entire pandemic. Good lord. We really have a bunch of clowns in high places throughout the country. Like seriously, a bunch of ignorant morons.

I mean, I get the need to open up, and have made several posts indicating that we are heading to a point where tough decisions will need to be throughout the nation because we can't afford to live like this for several months, but her lack of understanding of the nature and serious of the decision and situation at hand has me very alarmed.

That lady is bat-**** crazy.

Just saw the interview, she’s prattling on about ‘We just need to get back to work, that’s it!’ As if there isnt even any pandemic that currently exists.. the equivalent of a 4 yr old plugging her ears and saying ‘I cant hear you!’.. a truly astounding display of ignorance.

And before anyone gets their fancy underwear in a bunch, she has an (I) after her name, so no one can discount her stupidity simply because she belongs to the ‘other’ party.

Maybe she's an I cuz no one wanted her?

I keed, I keed...kinda. Heh.

I just think we're still a long way from the finish line. I suspect that what most of the country is dealing with is a less virulent strain than the one ravaging NYC. I also think NYC has multiple strains, which might explain to some degree why some are asymptomatic while others are brutalized to death.

I'm curious what the in depth research and analysis of the strains tell us when the data is sorted out and mapped.

We were talking about how the sba thing would be abused as far back as page 877. Now we have some answers.

My friend tells me some schools closed the fall too. A school called Riverdale around NYC and some other. Anyone else heard this?

Yes, I think that was reported a few days ago. Although the terminology schools are using can sometimes be confusing. They need to use dates rather than rest of the year. That could mean school year or calendar year depending on who you talk to.

We need to quit playing the "they all suck except my guy" game and vote them out. Then overhaul salary and perks, and see how many of them are willing to really serve the electorate vs serving themselves.

What keeps those in power in check is fear and they have no fear of their constituents because they are playing us like violins

A mass turnover would change that...a second mass turnover might be necessary to show we mean business

I hope one of the positive outcomes of the outbreak is broad support for smaller class sizes. Parents are overwhelmed with 1-3 kids at home. Teachers trying to educate with thirty 2nd graders and no aide where the population is 50%+ on free lunches is just not a recipe for great educational outcomes. I hope teachers unions make a real push this fall for greater educational spending with a focus on smaller class sizes.

A BIG issue is that kids aren’t allowed to be around children and many times can’t really get out and play. It is a miserable existence for children right now. There is really no telling what type of harm we are doing to them right now.

In a related story, the pastor in Central known for resisting the stay home order tried to back over a protester with a church bus and just got arrested for it...

Quick follow up (not The Onion)...

So.. why the spike yesterday? More testing access, or???

I think so.....over the past few hrs CA's testing number jumped from 292K to 465K. I think the total tested number has been lagging the confirmed case number, at least in this state. According to the governor they are now trying to test portions of the population that are asymptomatic, starting with jails and assisted living facilities. We should be up to 25K tests per day soon. At that point, they'll start to roll out wider spread asymptomatic testing across more and more fractions of the greater populous here in an effort to start to lay the groundwork to phase back in the larger workforce.

Edit: My prediction is that they'll try to fix it so that states can file bankruptcy. Maybe they'll make them sell off assets like national parks, and forests. All of these corporations that got "bailed out" are sitting on a bunch of cash.

Never waste a crisis.
