If a person has a DNR will they be put on an ventilator due to Covid-19? If the answer is No I am curious to how many people have DNR's and died due to not being put on a ventilator? Also how would their death be listed?

It depends if there are any stipulations. If there are no stipulations then the answer is likely no, they wouldn't. I can only speculate on how the death would be listed, but I'll guess complications from pneumonio symptoms. sammymvpknight probably knows best.

I don't necessarily think this is the case here, but one worry I have about the guidelines for re-opening, and its terms, is that some states may start "cooking the books" a little.

Exactly like officials in Wuhan did. Until they couldn't hide it anymore.

Heard on the news today that Millions of New Yorkers have already had the virus, didn't know that they had it and had gotten over it.

That's based on an antibody test done at random, but still a statistical sampling. It's an estimate at this point.

Yeah if you are shopping at Whole Foods
We ain't got one of those here--1 Acme, 2 Walmarts and 3 Food Lions. We hold down the bottom end of the grocery store bell curve. You can get store brand organic for a decent price but there is not a great selection and junk is still cheaper. Given the demographics of the area, junk is what's bought. Trader Joe's looked at opening a store here, but decided the buying habits were wrong when this town opened a Checkers and a Sonic during the week Trader Joe's did its survey :hihi:

The new normal may not be the best phrase, but it encapsulates the idea. We need to re enter society in a controlled fashion.

I've been asking the question for weeks. How do we open up mass transit, air travel, hotels, theme parks, concerts, sports?

They won't all happen at the same time, but there needs to be a careful plan.

I told my hair dresser friend that she needs an N95 mask for work. Only because her patrons won't be able to wear masks while being fixed up. She needs to wash her hands, wipe down her station, and her scissors/clippers between customers. They already do this with combs and other things.

Told her if anyone looks or sounds sick, you cancel their appointment.

We need folks to remain steadfast on this. Many will. Many won't or can't.

Some will be much harder... how do you open a bar to the public? Night clubs? Screening? Gonna be a lonely year for a lot of singles...lol

Quoting you here only because it illustrates a point we were both trying to make a day ago....yesterday, there was another 2,342 deaths in the U.S. attributed to COVD-19. We just can't seem to get under that 2,000 per day death range at this stage.

So, once again, it is great that the curve has flattened, but it is still a dire curve until it plummets significantly downward, and the country needs to remain very cognizant and reminded of that by its federal, state, and local governments.

Jackson Parish Sheriff's office reports 48 cases, state numbers show 24.

Bienville Parish Sheriff's office reports 115 cases, state numbers show 69.

This is not just a lag in reporting, the state's numbers are just wrong. Jackson Parish has had more than 24 cases for over two weeks.
