I’m not sure that article means that you can’t get coronavirus twice.

I agree. I don't think South Korea having fals e positives says anything about protection from differing strains. As far as I know there are at least 3 with significant changes. Whether that affects immunity I do not know. Also, nothing in this article shows any data on waning immunity to a single strain which is common with other coronaviruses. That headline is misleading. Nothing has been concluded other than South Korea had a bunch of false positive tests.

This is a case where society needs to act and be responsible. All businesses should only allow you in if you have a mask. Some have already started thst but it needs to be across the board
Unfortunately, there will be incidents with poorly-behaved patrons. Some people just can't do rules and restrictions. A security guard in Michigan lost his life last week attempting to enforce the State of Michigan's masks-required law at a Family Dollar store.

It's almost like they want to discourage people from gathering in places where people tend to gather. Shocking, I know. And the grammar is fine. [The] FIELDS (plural) [are] CLOSED. What's nuts is how New Orleans always seems to manage to elect mayors that they hate. I swear, Jesus Christ himself could be the mayor of New Orleans and the people would loathe him.

I understand closing indoor spaces where people gather but shutting down green space seems like it has marginal public health benefits and mostly just pisses people off.

You are right about our mayors though. We mostly elect idiots and crooks. Or crooked idiots.

Thats horrible but it cant stop us from doing right

I agree with you. Just wanted to make the point that businesses won't always be able to stand alone and enforce mask requirements. If mask requirements ever become law in the N.O. metro area, local detail cops will be pulling lots of OT.

I'm so glad I have the city of New Orleans to keep me safe and sound. They closed the field at the forking park today. And they couldn't even bother to use correct grammar. I've long considered leaving New Orleans as every sane person must do every so often. This is nuts.

Okay, at the risk of sounding stupid, what it grammatically incorrect?

Not just New Zealand. Germany, South Korea, Japan, all have done better than the US by orders of magnitude. There were so many models to handle this well, and the current administration botched it at every turn. There were warnings COVID was coming, and we did nothing. There were warnings more testing was needed and we did nothing. We needed a national committee to to deal with a pandemic and it was disbanded in 2018. There were protests against the stay-at-home orders followed by spikes in COVID cases.

Face it, between an administration that thinks of science as hocus-pocus and our own self-inflicted refusal to deal with the harsh reality of quarantine, the US leads the league in COVID deaths.

I work in a nursing home and my wife has COVID, so yes it's personal and I'm ****** off
Update: My wife had a tele-health session with her PCP today and the doctor thinks she has pneumonia, so it's antibiotics and and a nebulizer. If Abby is not markedly better in 2 days we may be looking at a hospital stay or at least supplemental O2 at home.

Fighting this thing with Acetaminophen alone isn't getting it done. We're in our third week of this, and it's no fun at all I can tell you. I worry.

Man, sorry to hear this. Keep us posted -- hopefully she'll turn a corner soon.

There is literally one small field. So it's saying field is closed. Regardless, there hasn't been a sign or any sort of closure since all of this started. To put something out now when restrictions should be being lifted is ludicrous. There were people out laying next to the signs when I passed earlier. This isn't going to go well. Perhaps I'll have a picnic with my family tomorrow.
