I'm wondering what their criteria was for moving to phase 2? Did they use the CDC issued guidance? If not, how are they making decisions?
Sounds like you’ve got some googling to do.

Not even for food? What are you supposed to do to eat and drink? Its really strict Chuck. If you are a resident you have to stay in your home. If you are a tourist you have to stay in your vacation rental or hotel room. The only valid reason to leave is for medical emergencies. Not even for food. The fine for violation is 5000 and up to a year in jail. They have arrested several people so far on each island. One couple was arrested several times and finally the police drove them to the airport and basically evicted them from the state. It angered a lot of people because the state actually paid for their return flights.
Perhaps mistaken, but I thought Hawaii didn’t really like tourist coming into the State anyway?
If it was a one-time payment? I have my doubts. Sure, there would be some people that say screw this at their minimum wage jobs in large numbers and go back to school or something, but not sure that’s a bad thing. If you give every American $75,000, a loaf of bread becomes $25 within two weeks.
The entire economic system would fall upside down on its head.
Now, if you rolled out that $75,000 payout over say a 2 to 3 year period, that would help curb the negative effect on the value of the dollar.
I lived there for 3 years. The locals don’t like it but the government and businesses love it. Their only source of income is tourism and pineapples, and the pineapple market isn’t big enough to sustain a state economy.
If they're doing it like Ohio it requires a bottle of whiskey and a dart board.I'm wondering what their criteria was for moving to phase 2? Did they use the CDC issued guidance? If not, how are they making decisions?
South Carolina went from phase 1 to phase 2 in seven days.
Isn't the amount of UV radiation a factor? So while temperature may not slow the spread, the increasing amount of incoming solar radiation as we move into the summer months should be a factor. I know I heard on the radio the other day (and read here at some point) that UV destroys this thing in short order (a matter of minutes, apparently). It's the main reason why I grab the shopping cart that's been sitting way out in the parking lot when I go to the store. Of course, I still wipe the handle with a clorox wipe. Was hoping for some good news going into the summer that heat/humidity would slow spread but seen a couple of studies lately saying temperature/climate has little effect
Temperature has little or no impact on spread of coronavirus, new study suggests
‘Seasonality is likely to play only a minor role in the epidemiology of Covid-19,’ scientists concludewww.independent.co.uk
Our timeline here in Ohio. No one is required to open and everything has standards they have to meet prior to opening. Each industry had an advisory panel that included industry professionals and health board members. Will it work? Will let you know in June.South Carolina went from phase 1 to phase 2 in seven days.
WASHINGTON – Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, got a haircut Friday at the salon owned by Shelley Luther, who was briefly jailed for refusing to obey stay-at-home orders during the coronavirus pandemic.
Luther, who opened Salon à la Mode nearly two weeks ago, was found in contempt for ignoring a court order to close from state Judge Eric Moyé, who sentenced her to seven days in Dallas County jail Tuesday and hit her with a $7,000 fine.
The state's Supreme Court on Thursday ordered Dallas County officials to free Luther while they weigh an appeal challenging her incarceration.
Cruz wrote on Twitter: "Hair salons & barbershops are open in TX today. Just got my hair cut for first time in 3 months at Salon A La Mode to support Shelley Luther, who was wrongly imprisoned when she refused to apologize for trying to earn a living. Glad Shelley is out of jail & her business is open!"...……...
With the reactions from Cruz and Abbott, kinda makes you wonder if this would've been any different if Judge Clay Jenkins and Judge Moye were Republicans making the same rulings. Or maybe I'm pointing out the hypocrisy?
