I don't know what to make of this.

Just off the top of my head I would say Putin appearing in a hazmat suit is freaking terrifying. This guy has carefully cultivated an image of toughness and masculinity in the eye of the Russian public.

I suspect they're getting close to have something by tonight or tomorrow

FYI -- Unemployment insurance in Louisiana pays a whopping maximum of $216 per week (49th in the country, $2 more than good ol' Mississippi), so if you are laid off in Louisiana under this bill only covers your "full salary" if you now make $816 per week or less (i.e., just over $40,000 annually).

Even in states where the normal rate is higher, the extra $600 a week still won't pay the "full salary" of a large number of workers. To represent it that way (particularly when done by a Senator from New York!) is dishonest.

putting $1200 dollars in your pocket does nothing if the company you worked for closed down. And the health care industry is included in Businesses and corporations getting the money. Planned parenthood, solar tax credits and other pork has no place in the bill

I think funding for Planned Parenthood makes a lot of sense when you’re talking about people facing lower income and staying at home or losing employment and wanting to take measures about their family planning.

I’m not arguing for it specifically because I don’t know the details of what’s being proposed.

But I think it’s a bit much to flatly declare it “pork”

Working with lower class families and teens, planned parenthood (more than just abortions) was integral. And with more people potentially joining those socioeconomic ranks, I can see a legitimate rise in its use.

Ok, so after catching up on the last 10 pages of this thread for the last 30+ minutes, it's safe to say this country is forked in all kinds of ways.

There are already discussions up here about what we’ll do if the US does just end any mitigation policies, broad scale.
