Am ordering one next week. I use Kodi on a regular basis and was looking for something quicker and more streamlined

Question is can I watch live sports with that thing? If so, I may be finally be free from cable companies. I saw some youtube videos showing that it's possible, but nothing on exactly how to do it.

With the sports devil add on you can watch all live sports. Even pay per view

I take it the way to do it without a PC is no longer available since ES File Explorer can no longer be installed on the Fire Stick (tried searching with no luck).

How easy is the other process?

I downloaded ES File Explorer the other day, so I think it is still available.

I did it via the PC and it was very easy. Get the IP, use command line structure to push files and install...quite simple...10 mins of work

My biggest issue... No PC. Don't see any instructions for Mac, unless I missed it.

The Shield has exceeded my expectations, it's very quick to load anything and a breeze to navigate through.

I previously had a StreamaxTV box, would take seconds to flip through pages and was frustratingly slow and would freeze when searching for movies and shows. So I found the Shield to be a huge upgrade.


The Beast is a build for Kodi and arguably the best one out, you can choose from a couple different ones (I have The Beast Encore).

It's free and highly recommend you check it out when you can. Here's a vid for Encore.

If anyone is interested in a Shield Tv, sounds like Nvidia is sending promo codes for 50 dollars off when signing up for their Newsletter. I just signed up for the newsletter myself to see if it works, if it does I'll purchase another, $150 isn't bad.
