Darren Rizzi’s presser: “I’m an accountability guy. We’ve been doing things the same way here for a long time. Change is needed.” (4 Viewers)

I wanted us to consider Rizzi as HC over Allen back in 2022. It sucks this is the way he got the job. Who knows, maybe the guy is a culture changer and has a future here. I didn't realize the Bill Parcells connection he has. Honestly kind of exciting, gives me actual coach vibes. Just don't know if the situation will provide him with growth here.

Rizzi has energy, he’s a former player, and he’s probably the best special teams coach in the league.

If he can right this ship this season I would have no issue letting him bring in who he wants for next season and give him a year or two to evaluate him while we get the cap in line and rebuild started.

One of the best coaches in the league in John Harbaugh was a former ST’s coach.

Don’t know about the rest of you, but by the end of his presser I was ready to run through a brick wall for him.

Granted I would just bounce back and fall to a pile of meaty flesh, but damnit, I was ready!
at the end of the day, its just a lot of words that hardly meant much.

coach what you gonna change?

oh we gonna change a lot. look at it all. then change stuff.

ok coach.

Passion works for me. I got tired of seeing dennis allen making the same face constantly.
I wrote about this before, win or lose, 70 yard TD pass to Shaheed or horrible Carr interception Allen always just looked like he was waiting for a bus

I get being stoic and even keeled (I'm that way a lot myself), but damn sometimes you need more than that and need to see some fire

I mean who doesn’t like to see their coach happy and pumped up when they make a great play? Besides Aaron Rodgers I mean.

It just occurred to me that I've watched my last Dennis Allen post game presser. And that instead I get to watch a Darren Rizzi post game presser. Without even taking the actual games into account, this is a HUGE win.

I like what he says, but a lot of guys "talk the talk". show me how you "walk the walk".

With that said, I'm getting Dan Campbell vibes from this guy. And I like that he seems to be an innovator, and thinks outside the box. Dude was instrumental in getting the kickoff rules re-written, and then developing strategies to work for the advantage. That bodes well, IMO.

Best case scenario, we've got a younger John Harbaugh/Dan Campbell on our hands. Worst case scenario, he does things different than DA. No mattter how this season turns out, I hope Rizzi remains on staff in 2025. I have no issues making him HC if he demonstrates the qualities; and I see very few issues with returning an INTERIM HC to his prior position with a heart-felt "THANK YOU for helping the team when the team needed you most...here's a bonus, and you are still our ST coach."

But fingers crossed for the 1st scenario. Is this what hope feels like? It's been so long, I've forgotten...
