Dennis Allen not expecting to make any staff changes going into the Bye (1 Viewer)

Of course he's not, because he needs that cushion for the end of the season when someone needs firing. He'll keep Pete around as long as possible because after that DA is next.

I'm okay with this, at this point, though there are definitely some people on the hot seat.

The way I look at it, and I'm sure the front office does too, is that we are in playoff contention and leading the division and are hoping we will improve and be more consistent as we move through the regular season.

In the multiple 7-9 and 9-7 seasons under Payton, how many times did Payton make coaching changes during the season?

The only one that I remember is replacing Ryan with Allen as DC, but the foundation for that change was put in place before the season started. It was a contingency plan, and an inevitable one, that Payton put in place before the season started.

Coaches don't usually make staff changes in the middle of a season, especially if their record is .500 or better.

People blame Pete but Dennis Allen meddles in the offense. "There's no QB competition " . Look at his time with the Raiders. There was constant turmoil at the QB position.
EVERY DECISION HE MAKES IS THE WRONG ONE

He needs to slide back into that DC spot and make way for a real head coach.

It’ll come out. Yes, they pushed Sean out. They thought they had their man in house and Sean’s voice got too big. It wasn’t super messy but it happened. Sean politely said if you think you can’t do it without me be my guest. Payton had his issues but he was the key cog that moved this team.
Going to need a little more evidence than a vain imagination. If true it would be interesting, though. Sean controlled Mickey not vice versa. Especially after winning a Super Bowl

He just kept on doing what he was doi— wait am I allowed to say that in this context?
