He needs to slide back into that DC spot and make way for a real head coach.

Only if the new coach wants him on board. He needs to slide back into that DC spot and make way for a real head coach.
Going to need a little more evidence than a vain imagination. If true it would be interesting, though. Sean controlled Mickey not vice versa. Especially after winning a Super BowlIt’ll come out. Yes, they pushed Sean out. They thought they had their man in house and Sean’s voice got too big. It wasn’t super messy but it happened. Sean politely said if you think you can’t do it without me be my guest. Payton had his issues but he was the key cog that moved this team.
He just kept on doing what he was doi— wait am I allowed to say that in this context? In the multiple 7-9 and 9-7 seasons under Payton, how many times did Payton make coaching changes during the season?
The only one that I remember is replacing Ryan with Allen as DC, but the foundation for that change was put in place before the season started. It was a contingency plan, and an inevitable one, that Payton put in place before the season started.
Coaches don't usually make staff changes in the middle of a season, especially if their record is .500 or better.
even if true, what would it tell of the current situation? That Micky has cojones? Or that Micky over estimated that DA is a great coach? what did DA say today? “I somehow have to find a way to make these guys play consistent?” WHAT??? That doesn’t sound like a guy under control. Sean would never say that to a reporter. But whateverI believe he is intimating that he has insider knowledge of this.
What are you talking about?People blame Pete but Dennis Allen meddles in the offense. "There's no QB competition " . Look at his time with the Raiders. There was constant turmoil at the QB position.
EVERY DECISION HE MAKES IS THE WRONG ONE
At least say, we’re going to do better I PROMiSE! I’ll beat these mofos with a fire hose if they don’t! Trust me, we will not see that crappy Effing play again, you can bank on it! Theres my vain imagination of a head coach."It's on me"
Feign accountability while doing absolutely nothing to improve
Technically he and PC were coerced into the position. If DA had real coaching ambition he could’ve made an effort to interview with other teams while his d was looking good these past years.I don’t understand why people fight so hard to get into job positions they have no aptitude for. I see it all the time in IT. Great engineers just have to get into management because “that’s the progression” only to be terrible at it. They become miserable, their team becomes miserable, everyone is miserable.
Dennis Allen gave it a shot twice. He’s bad at it. You can see the stress on his face and the disorganization of the team hints that everyone around him is stressed and frustrated.
He was good enough as a DC that he could do that for a long time in the NFL. If he absolutely has to be a head coach, go coach some mid level division one NCAA team. Dragging his coaches, friends, and players down with him because he just has to coach is a miserable way through life … and shame on the organization that enables him.
Explain the clown reaction to a series of facts, @Judge_SmailsWhat are you talking about?
2012 Raiders: Carson Palmer started 15/16 games, then he signed with the Cardinals.
2013 Raiders: Terrelle Pryor named opening week starter; he suffered a concussion early and missed a game, then sprained his MCL in November and they had to make do with the QBs on the roster. The next time we saw Pryor in an NFL game, he was catching passes instead of throwing them.
None of that remotely qualifies as turmoil. Those teams suffered from near-total depletion of talent and awful draft/FA decisions.
The internet explains for me:Explain the clown reaction to a series of facts, @Judge_Smails
"Hey look we had 400 yards of offense we just struggle to put up points."How many times did he say "hey, look" ...?
Dennis Allen wanted to be a head coach. No team would hire him after his reputation with the Raiders, but the Saints were afraid to move on from Payton so gave Allen his second shot with the understanding he would just keep doing what Payton was doing.Technically he and PC were coerced into the position. If DA had real coaching ambition he could’ve made an effort to interview with other teams while his d was looking good these past years.
This is a speculative opinion piece that never once mentions the sprained MCL Pryor suffered vs. the Giants, an aggravation of an injury from their previous game. The piece you posted ends by wondering if the Raiders even had a QB at all, and given how the season played out, it turns out they didn’t.The internet explains for me:
