Derek Carr world tour thread (updated with combine visits) (3 Viewers)

Can’t believe y’all think a 32 year old taysom can do what Lamar does lol
We never compared what Taysom does to what Lamar does. We are discussing that Taysom wouldn't last a whole season without being injured running an RPO system. Nowhere was a Lamar comparison made. Taysom running the RPO for 8-10 plays a game has worked good and kept him relatively healthy throughout his career as a Saint so far.

With reports saying the Saints want to sign Carr sooner than later, it leads me to think the following.

1. They don’t want to be Carr’s leverage with the Jets. The Jets want Rodgers but it wouldn’t surprise me if that deal to the Jets doesn’t happen for any number of reasons. Such is life in the world of Rodgers. If the Jets are now focued on Carr, as some are saying, the Saints could be removing themselves from being leverage.

2. The Saints are legitimately trying to get it done because Carr to the Jets is a leverage to get more money out of the Saints. If the Saints don’t think it’s happening, they press for a deal and ignore the Jets threat.

3. Carr has no intent to sign with the Saints. Saints are saying they want to sign him now for marketing/saving face purposes. The next step would be saying they are moving on from Carr and have decided to go in a different direction.

I’m thinking it is us. He wants the Jets for negotiating leverage. They’re likely going with Rodgers, but even if they don’t, they’re his second choice.

The Jets offer his only opportunity to have competing offers to try to get his price up at the place he ultimately wants to be, IMO.

You know what Saints or the only team Carr ain’t the second choice( Jets wants Rogers ,Panthers want Rogers ,So he’s over there waiting to see what they gonna do while he make us wait… if him being our First choice ain’t good enough move on…… Baker fa me

No thank you on Baker. Would rather give Taysom a shot at being the bridge guy than that guy.

A couple of years ago, you probably would have been elated.

It wasn’t until recently that suddenly everyone thinks the guy sucks.
A few years ago? Nah...
I prefer the Del Rio/Musgrave Carr (with Cooper and Crabtree)

Didn’t realize Carr finished third in MVP voting in 2016.
To my point; the 2015-2016 Raiders were a really good offensive team, as they were loaded. They had a great running attack and the Cooper/Crabtree receiving duo worked great. Amari Cooper getting hurt and then traded killed that.

Honestly, I’ve never thought or known much about him until now. I didn’t even realize who his brother was. Nothing personal against him.. The Raiders just aren’t a team I pay any attention to and I never saw him play in college either

With Daniel Jones asking for $45 million, would you be okay with just signing for under $30 million if you were Carr?

Asking and getting are two different things....If 30 mil is Carr's best offer, he doesn't have much of a choice. I think he's sitting there hoping Aaron Rodgers goes somewhere else so he can create a bidding war between the Saints and Jets.

I'm not so sure. He's definitely the Jets' 2nd choice, but I'm getting the feeling that Rodgers will either want to stay in Green Bay or retire.

I listen to Sirius XM Fantasy Sports a lot. They have a guy on their flagship football show named Adam Caplan who is very tied in to the NFL. When they brought up Carr and the Jets, he said thats where he's going if they don't land Rodgers. He said it's where Carr wants to be and that the Jets like him a lot, but would prefer Rodgers. We'll see.
